Illuminating the seal of Central Washington University, the words Docendo Discimus, “By Teaching We Learn,” remain the
cornerstone of the university’s mission. The university is committed to teaching as a means to facilitate learning. All members of the university community support a relationship between teacher and student, which makes both partners in learning, scholarship, research, creative expression, and the application of knowledge to solve human and societal problems.
