BIBLE INSTITUTE OF LOS ANGELES
The Spanish Work A competent, consecra ted worker, with a real love for the Spani sh people, is ma intained to labor among the Spanish speaking people of the city and surrounding towns including the many camps composed of Mexican laborers. The work consists of personal interviews, with Bible classes and Gospel meetings where possible, as a result of which very many have been brought out of darkness into the gl oriou s light of the Gospel of Chri st. The Shop Work In the shop s, factories, car barns and fire engine houses, hundreds of men are found whose circumstances form an al most insurmountable barr ier to their attendance upon regular church services, and among these our evangelists hold Gospel mee tings on week-days and press the claims of the Lord Jesus Chri st upon men, many of whom become Christians of the sturdi est type. Seaman's Work of the Bible Institute Our Pacific ports are teeming with the traffic of the world. Ships hailing from South Ameri ca, Mexico, Europe, Asia, China, Japan, Australia and the islands of the sea, with crews, immigrants, travelers of all races, pass to and fro from all parts of the globe. Recognizing this great opportunity · and responsibility, we have entered on the task of evangelizing this cosmopolitan throng. We are all obligated to the sailor. His life is one of privations, peculiar hardship and peril, physically, morally and spiritually. No class is more neglected; none more re sponsive to and grateful for our efforts. The work is in charge of an especially efficient and com petent Superintendent, upon whose labors the blessing of God has rested in abundant measure. The aim is to reach every man on board with the Gospel, and to provide them with the Scriptures and other Christian literature free of charge. Serv ices are held whenever and wherever possible on all vessels, and many personal interviews are had. The worker does not wait on shore for the men to come
