This unique organi zation, found ed by Mrs. Anna L. Horton, still proves its need of living and the powe r of its well-lived life. Its purpose is not to afford amusement to girls, but to help th em mature into a well-rounded Chri stian young woman­ hood. Neve rth eless the social hour and th e hour fo llowing the lesson, affo rds th em the fe ll owship that all young people need . The several hundred office and store girls who consider themse lves members are rep resented each T uesday night by a goodly number at the supper table and in th e Bibl e Class \\·hich fo ll ows . ?llany a homes ick, motherl ess g irl has been brought in by fri end s and saved much by t he hearty fe llowship, wise coun­ ~el and friendship which she has found in the Club . Some good Chri stian women, wbo a re always in attendance. a re of untold help to these g irl s. There are prayer circles which are pledged to daily praye r and commitment of Scriptures . Sick-beds and sor­ rowing members are not forgotten, as the many messages and visits prove. Absentees are kept in constant tou ch with the Club by a committee which looks after such correspond­ ence, and the cheery Chr istian letters are a help and blessi ng. The Club has many representatives in the foreign and home fields, and each yea r there are many from the Club to take up the regular Course of study in the Institute to pre­ pare them for such work. Student Missionary Union The object of thi s organization of the student body is to st imulate and foster interest in the evangeli zat ion of the needy places of the world , both in the "Home" and "Foreign" field s. T he U ni on under its own olficers and committees, meets once a week. A la rge part of the time is spent in definite pra,·er for the de finit e needs of mi ss ionar ies on the fi eld, and conditi ons in the fie ld. Let ters from fo rmer student s have a prom;nent place at this meeting, and there is usuall y ·an address from a returned mi ss ionary, which keeps the stud ents in close touch with all parts of the wor ld .
