Three Year Course for Those Intending To Be Pastors and Those Who Are Already In Pastoral Work But Realize the Need of Fuller Equipment How the Course for Pastors Came To Be A la rge number of the graduates of the Bibl e Institute of Los Angeles haYe been call ed into the regul a r mini stry and to be past or s in Bapti st , l\![ethodi st , Presbyterian, Cong regational and other churches . Some of these denominati ons require a three year course in a theological seminary as one of the con diti ons of ordinati on, and until September, 1921 , the Bible Institute of Los Angeles offered only a two year course of study, though those two years were longer than the school year ordinarily given in theological semina ri es, being years of nine month s each, eighteen months in all. Notwithstanding thi s, many of the graduates of this Institute have passed ve ry credit able examinati ons bef ore ordaining Coun cil s and P resbyteries and other ordaining bodi es , and after their ordinat ion have clone acceptabl e and effecti ve work in the mini stry. But the Dean and different members of the Faculty of the Bibl e Insti tute, who have themsel ves been in pastoral work and know the demands of the work, have felt tint a two year course did not give adequate preparati on for the mini stry, so it was determ'ned last year to offer a larger and more adequate course t o those contemplating taking up regul a r pastor 's work. The results of an added yea r' s work have been ve ry grati fy ing in the number that took the course and in the progress that they have made in the course, and it has been determined to enlarge and strengthen thi s course in many ways, and to increase the faculty by the additi on of men peculi a rl y well fi tted by education and exper ience fo r thi s pa1iicula r work. Hitherto some of our students, on the advi ce of the Facul ty, have gone to va ri ous theological seminari es to get the add itional work that seemed des irable.
