BIBLE INSTITUTE OF LOS ANGELES
larger effectiveness than men and women who have had a thor ough college education. Mr. Moody himself, was not an edu cated man from the scholastic standpoint, but he was used as no other man of his generation. Therefore it is the policy of the Institute to receive men and women of this type. These cases, however, are exceptional, and wherever one is young enough to get a good common grammar school and high school education before coming, it is desirable that they do so. A thorough college course is desirable when age permits. Many of our students are university graduates. Some of those whose training has been very imperfect before taking the course at the Institute, gain a very thorough working knowledge of the E nglish language while here. See page 45. All applicants for admission to the Institute must be of good Christian character, and must have had at least one year of Christian experience. They should have a genuine love for souls, proven by actual experience in winning souls to Christ. They must be willing to do hard work, and submit to discipline and order. Students are accepted only on trial for the first month, and if for any reason they are found unadapted for Christian work, they may be asked to withdraw at the close of the first month. Immediately upon arrival at the Institute, men should re port to the Superintendent of Men, and women to the Super intendent of Women. The best time to enter the Institute is at the beginning of a term, and preferably at the beginning of the Fall term. How ever, one may enter profitably at any time. Prospective students who are under the required age, or who for any other reason are delayed in entering the Institute, are advised to commence a preparatory study of the Bible in advance, along Institute lines. To aid them in doing this, the Correspondence Courses of the Institute are recommended. (See pages 75-77.) Applicants for entrance to the Institute are recommended to subscribe for The King's Business, which is published monthly by the Institute, and which will not only be of assist ance in their studies, but bring them continually in touch with the life and work of the Institute.
