The epic flooding in Texas resulting from Hurricane “Harvey” impacted Northern Virginia in the form of high gasoline prices resulting from the shut-down of several Houston area refineries and the Colonial Pipeline. This pipeline, which has been called “the Mississippi River of fuels” runs from Houston, Texas (where it serves 30 refineries) to Linden, New Jersey (Port of New York). The fuel farm to the right of the Blue nine’s seventh hole at Fairfax is one of the distribution sites along the pipeline and handles some 40 percent of the gasoline distributed in Northern Virginia. ANNUAL MEETING OF THE MEMBERSHIP Monday, 2 October 2017 7:00 PM in the Arlington Clubhouse Complimentary Buffet to follow
Dress Code: Business Casual – jacket required for men; suitable, like attire for women Only primary Resident, Life, and Absent* Members are eligible to vote and a photo ID is required. Eligible Members who are unable to attend the Meeting may cast their vote at the Arlington Administration Office on Saturday, 30 September and on Monday, 2 October, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, or at the Fairfax Lobby on Saturday, 30 September from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM and on Monday, 2 October from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Those who chose to vote prior to the Meeting will not be able to vote on any motions made from the floor, and may face the potential of having their absentee vote invalidated by a floor motion. Members who wish to vote earlier or have questions regarding on vote eligibility should contact the Administration Office at (703) 521-6800, ext. 1201 or 1204. Rainbow City will be available from 6:30 to 9:30 PM. Reservations may be made online here . *Absent Members are only eligible to vote if they attend the Annual Meeting in person.
