T hi s unique organi zat ion, founded by Mr s. Anna L. Horton, still proves its need of li vi ng and the powe r of its well -li ved li fe. Its purpose is not to afford amu sement to girls, but to he lp them mature into a we ll -roun ded Chri stian young woma n­ hood. Neve rtheless the social hour and th e hour fo llowing the lesson, affords them the fe llowsh ip that all young people need. T he seve ral hundred offi ce and store girl s who consider themselves members are represented each Tuesday night by a goodly number at the supper tabl e and in the Bible Class whi ch fo ll ows. ;\ Jany a homesick. motherless g irl has been brought in by fri end s and saved much by the hearty fe llowship. wi se coun ­ sel and fri endship wh ich she has fo und in the Club. Some good Chri sti an women, who are always in attendance, are of untold help to these gi rl s. There are prayer circles which are pledged to dai ly prayer and commitment of Scriptures. Sick-beds and sor­ rowing members are not forgotten, as the many messages and visits prove. Absentees are kept in constant touch wi th the Club by a committee which looks after such correspond­ ence, and the cheery Christian letters are a help and blessing. The Club has many representatives in the foreign and home fields, and each yea r there are many from the Club to take up the regul a r Course · of study in the Institute to pre­ pare them for such work. Student Missionary Union The obj ect of this organi zat ion of the student body is to st imulate and foster interest in the evangelization of the needy places of the world. both in the "Home" and "Foreign" field s. T he U ni on under its own officers and committees, meets once a week. A large pa1i of the t ime is spent in definite praver for the definit e needs of mi ss iona ri es on the fie ld, and condition s in the fi eld. Letters from fo rmer students ha,ve a prominent place at this meet ing, and the re is usuall y an address from a returned mi ss iona ry, whi ch keeps the students in close touch with all parts of the worl d.
