XXV. Music The prime object of the music instruction is to equip the student thoroughly for every demand made upon the Chris­ tian worker in playing, singing, conducting, writing and teach­ ing Gospel music. It prepares for every branch of regular church music activity, and the special work of music in evan­ geli sm. Courses are offe red in Voice, Piano, Organ, Viol in, Theory and Notati on, Sight Singing, Conducting, Harmony and Composition, Normal Training, Hymnology, Advanced Chorus and Ear Training. In all instructi on a standard of technique is maintained equal to that of the best conse rvatories, and provi sion is made for work in Voice, Piano, Organ, Counterpoint and Composi­ tion more advanced than that outlined in the regular two years course and mentioned in the preceding paragraph. The in struction in voice, piano, organ and violin is indi­ vidual , and a nominal charge of $1.00 fo r half-hour le ssons is made fo r voice, piano and violin , and $3.00 fo r pipe organ. A charge of $1.00 a month is made for daily use of practice pianos fo r piano and voice pupils. The rate for pipe organ lessons includes free daily organ practice. To persons not enrolled as regular students the rate for private instruction is double the student rate quoted above. 1.
