Three Year Course for Those Intending To Be Pastors and Those Who Are Already In Pastoral Work But Realize the Need of Fuller Equipment How the Course for Pastors Came To Be A large number of the graduates of the Bible In st itute of Los Angeles have been call ed into the regular mini st ry and to be pasto rs in Bapt ist, i\Iethod ist, Presbyteri an. Congregational and other churches . Some of these denom ina ti ons req uire a th ree yea r course in a theological semina ry as one of the con ditions of ordi nati on, and up till September , 1921 , t he Bible ·Inst itute of Los Angeles off ered onl y a two yea r course of study, t hough those two yea rs were longer than the school yea r ordinaril y given in theological semina ri es, being years of nine months each, eighteen months in all. Notwithstandi ng this, many of the g raduates of th is Institu te have passed Ye ry cred it able examinat ions before orda ining Councils and Presbyteries and other ordaining bodi es, and after their or-dination have clone acceptable and effecti ve work in the mini stry. But the Dean and different members of the Facu lty of the Bible Inst i tute, who have themselves been in pastoral work and know the demands of the work, have fe lt that a two yea r course did not give adeq ua te preparati on fo r the mini st ry, so it was dete rmined last yea r to offer a larger and more adequate course t o t hose contemplating taking up regular pastor's wodc The results of a n added yea r' s work haYe been very gratifying in the number that took the course and in the progress t hat they haYe made in the course, and it has been determined to enlarge and strengthen thi s course in many ways. a nd to increase the facu lty by the addition of men peculi a rl y well fitted by education and exper ience fo1° thi s part icular work. H itherto some of our students, on the advice of the Faculty, haYe gone tp va ri ous theological seminari es to get the add it ional work that seemed des irable. But it was felt very st rongly that because of the very unu sual fac iliti es of various kinds t hat God
