PERSONAL EVANGELISM. The various methods of personal work, Scrip tural answers to excuses most frequently encountered, and instructions for strengthening new converts in the faith. Emphasis is placed on Scripture memorization as necessary for personal work. Credit, two hours. CHAPTER SUMMARY. Introduces the student to one effective method of Bible study. Application of the text is made to various phases of the Christian life. This subject is definitely related to personal application of the Word and spiritual development. Elective. Credit, two hours. TYPOLOGY. A study of Old Testament types, placing special emphasis upon the study of the Tabernacle, the offerings, and the feasts. Spiritual lessons which can be applied in the life of the student are emphasized. Elective. Credit, two hours. THE BOOK OF PSALMS. A study of the general outline and content of the Book of Psalms, with special treatment of a number of different Psalms with emphasis upon their devotional features. Elective. Credit, two hours. THE BOOK OF JOHN. An analysis of the Gospel with stress on its use for soul-winning. Elective. Credit, two hours. SCRIPTURE WORD STUDY. This course takes the Authorized Version of the English Bible as a textbook and endeavors by a careful study of the words to find out the thought of the writers. Such a study is needful because of Verbal Inspiration and because our Bible is a translation with many archaisms. A knowledge of Greek or Hebrew, while helpful, is not essential. Elective. Credit, two hours. ANALYSIS. Considers in detail two New Testament boks, inquiring into the authorship, occasion for writing, purpose, and theme of each. The student analyzes the contents and searches for spiritual truths.

A detailed study of this Gospel with emphasis upon its vital place in the canon and its dispensational importance. Elective. Credit, two hours. EXPOSITION OF Hebrews A verse-by-verse exposition of the epistle indicating not only the specific details of exegesis; but the theological thought and structure of the book. Credit, two hours. THE BOOK OF JOB. This expository study deals with the minute examina tion of the text and a consideration of its teaching relative to the problem of suffering. Elective. Credit, two hours. THE BOOK OF ISAIAH. A study of the prophecy against the background of its history, with special treatment of the Messianic passages. Elective. Credit, two hours. 43
