THE BIBLE INSTITUTE OF LOS ANGELES

rounded Christian young womanhood. The several hundred office and store girls who consider themselves members are represented each Tuesday night by a goodly number at the supper table and in the Bible Class which follows. Between 100 and 200 show their growing interest in Bible study by their close attention through the entire class. They are intensely loyal to their leader, Mrs. T. C. Horton, who is by turn, mother, companion, counsellor, sympathizer and teacher. Many a homesick, motherless girl has been brought in by friends and saved much by the hearty fellowship, wise counsel and friendship which she has found in the Club. A few good Christian women, who are always in attendance, are of untold help to these girls. There are many prayer circles of five, who are pledged to daily prayer and commitment of Scriptures. Sick-beds and sorrowing members are not forgotten, as the many messages and visits prove. Absentees are kept in constant touch with the Club by a committee which looks after such correspond ence, and the cheery Christian letters are a help and blessing. The Student's Aid Society The Ladies' Auxiliary and Students' Aid has been organ ized for the purpose of assisting deserving students in secur ing the benefits of the school. The aim is to furnish scholar ships for some, and to supplement the needs of others, the aid furnished by thi s organization being confined definitely to nec essary expenses for room and board. An endowment fund of $7000.00 wou ld insure a continuous scholarship. The Society lends the money to the students to be repaid as soon as pos sible after their graduati on, without interest.
