King's Business - 1953-12

F IR E ? continued saying, “Well, that doesn’t apply to me, because I’m not killing people in Korea, and I’m not divorcing my wife, and my kids don’t take dope.” Because whether you like it or not God says, “All have sinned.” And it’s our job to convince people that God’s opinion is worth listening to. You just can’t get around the fact that one day He’s going to have the last word. Well, the product’s right. The price is right. The market’s right. Then what’s the trouble? Why the slump? It’s the same old story. No fire—no sales. It’s kind of embarrassing to be a fanatic—even a good fanatic—-isn’t it? At least it seems to be embarras sing for Christians. The trouble is Y O U R P R A Y E R R E Q U E S T Each morning the editorial staff of The King's Business magazine gathers for prayer, if you have a request we shall count it a privilege to unite in taking it to the throne of grace. Your request will be held in the strictest confidence. Address: The Editors, King's Business magazine, 558 So. Hope St., Los Angeles 17, Calif. that there are others who don’t mind in the least being considered fanat ics. And they work in the Kremlin morning, noon and night—planning, talking, thiri'king, eating, sleep ing World Conquest. They aren’t in the least embarrassed by their fanaticism that points toward the complete de struction-of the things we love most. And we warm the pew for an hour on Sunday and keep our mouths shut during the other six days. And we say every man has a right to his own opinion. And that’s true. But you have every right to try to change his opinion, too. And although a man has a right to a wrong opin ion, you have a duty to try to set him straight. Because that right of his will do him little good when he stands before the throne of God. Today the choice seems to be pret ty clear. We can get fanatical like Peter and Paul were fanatical and use the power of God to change evil men to saints — or we can keep on warming pews and filling forms — until the pews and the forms are tak en away by somebody who isn’t em barrassed by fanaticism. The kingdom of God is in your hands. How are the sales going? There’s a man in your office and a woman who lives next door who need the love of Christ desperately. They’re lonely, frightened and lost. A word from you about your Jesus could set them straight. Where’s the fire? END.
