International Standard Course is used qualifying the stu­ dent to receive an International Diploma upon the completion of the course or a certificate for a "School of Principles and Me thods" as the case may be. The Organized Sunday School \Nork is given due prominence, and the student body encour­ aged to become familiar with its activities and to attend its in­ stitutes and conventions. The World's Sunday School Asso­ ciation being largely missionary stands ready to assist in every possible way students preparing for the foreign field. The American Sunday School Union has now in its employ a num­ ber of our graduates who are rendering splendid se rvice in destitute fields. XVII. The Use of the Blackboard In this class students are carefully trained in the use of the blackboard in setting forth Gospel truth. Every Bible teacher, and especially the workers in the Sunday-school , should be able to sketch off-hand maps or other illustrations that will get and hold the attention of the class. Elaborate blackboard drawings are not attempted, but any student with some natural gift for drawing will get sufficient training in the fundamentals to develop the gift along correct lines.

XVIII. Missions

In this course is covered the history of Christian missions up to and including the organization of the great missionary boards ; the needs of, and the missionary forces in the great heathen lands are studied, and the student is also made famil­ iar with the principal features of the great heathen religions of the world ; the call and qualifications of the missionary are presented and instruction given as to applying to the boards; the mi ssionary on the field, his relation towards his fellow missionaries, towards . the board, toward s the heathen, and the care of his own health, are dealt with. The various phases of home missionary work are also considered, such as, the immi­ grant problem, the Indian problem, the Negro problem, and the work among the mountaineers of the south.
