T h e panorama of world-wide mis sions is changing constantly. Bi- ola is vitally concerned that no effort be spared to effectively reach the mil lions who have not yet seen the Christ who has been lifted up! To aid in this goal, Biola hereby inaugurates “Oper ation: Firebrand.” As the Lord pro vides the means, it is our purpose to bring to the La Mirada campus, wor thy, Christ-dedicated foreign students to be trained at Biola and then winged back to their native countries as veri table firebrands for the Saviour. Often, amid the spirit and fervor of nationalism, people of foreign nations will listen only to those of their own background and race. Universally es tablished mission boards have already responded, most enthusiastically, to this proposed project. Foreign students, of course, must be able to speak Eng lish, and meet college entrance require ments. While in training, “Operation: Firebrand” candidates will be cared for, and a constant challenge will be given them to go back and reach their own people for Christ. When one considers that- the greater number of foreign leaders were trained abroad in colleges of Communism or false re ligions and are now guiding the des tiny of that portion of the world—pres ently embroiled in nationalism — we ask: Christians, do you see the oppor tunity we have been missing? Biola has the facilities to train these students, plus the staff to counsel and guide them. Missionary leaders, hear ing of our prayerful plans, have al ready suggested several excellent can didates who would be able to come in September if funds are available.
