Women’s Club Visits Campus

Bible, Philanthropy, Drama, Music, Art and Legislation. These women are strong backers of our American form of government and are using their influence in every way possible against the evils of Communism. The club meets every Tuesday of the month from 10:30 to 12:30 noon. After lunch, the section for that day meets in regular session. Students sponsored by the Ebell Club have included several blind stu dents, a number of foreign students and at present they are aiding a young man who gets about in a wheel chair paralized from the waist down. He expects to graduate next year. Each year their student and a musi cal group visit the Ebell Club once during the term, present the program and are luncheon guests of the mem bers. Mr. Poole has been in charge of the Sponsorship plan for the students since the club first started this proj ect, and again this year introduced the Biola representatives and pre sented the program. The trip to the Campus from their club building was made in one of the new Biola buses. 32
the South Ebell Club, visited the new Biola College Campus. The ladies were escorted on a tour of the build ings and grounds and entertained at lunch in the Biola main dining room by President S. H. Sutherland and Mr. Eugene Poole of the Stewardship^ Department. They were all high in their praise of the new campus and the progress that had been made to date. For the past twelve and a half years, this group has faithfully spoh- sored a student in The Bible Insti tute, thus rendering real material help to the school in helping to de fray the cost of training. The South Ebell Club was organ ized in February 1915 and later that year was federated with the District, State and General California Federa tion of Women’s Clubs. Their motto is “Service, Education and Charity.” They own their own club building at 7101 South Menlo Avenue in Los Angeles and their present member ship numbers 320. The organization is made up of the following sections:
