ArtBeat - Winter 2024-25

Dear Friends,

As you peruse the refreshed winter edition of ArtBeat , we hope you enjoy its expanded and highlighted focus on the City of Irvine’s commitment to the arts. We hope these pages captivate your curiosity to visit and engage with the many art connections throughout the City, including programming at the Irvine Fine Arts Center. In addition to the new look to the publication, the Public Arts Master Plan is in its final stage to be presented to the City Council by the end of this year. The City partnered with Arts Orange County to develop the Public Arts Master Plan with a mission to provide a road map of arts over the next ten years. Earlier this year, the Irvine Public Arts Committee was formed as an advisory body to the City Council. The Committee’s role includes providing community input to the Community Services Commission regarding arts and culture programming. Their initial focus has been to build upon Irvine’s legacy of arts and cultural opportunities through supporting the comprehensive Public Arts Master Plan development. Rounding out the year, celebrate the season at the 2nd annual Holiday Market on Saturday, December 7 and Sunday, December 8, where you can find unique, handcrafted artisan gifts and enjoy a festive shopping experience. The event joins Illuminate Irvine on Saturday evening with holiday festivities and continues Sunday for additional shopping, held at the Great Park Palm Court Arts Complex.

Creatively yours,

Laura Murphy Irvine Fine Arts Center Supervisor
