Collab Corner What led you to your career at Nightingale Education Group? I didn’t fully realize it at the time, but I was going “
I was drawn to Nightingale because of its mission to prepare nurses who are not only highly skilled but also deeply compassionate and representative of the communities they serve. To me, nursing education has always been more than coursework; it’s about shaping professionals who will touch lives and help address the nursing shortage with competence and heart. I’ve been fortunate to work alongside incredible nurses and witness the impact they have on learners, colleagues, and patients. Through my own family’s healthcare journey, I’ve also seen how powerful nursing can be when expertise is paired with humanity. Those personal and profes- sional experiences continue to inspire my work and remind me why preparing the next generation of nurse’s matters. With a background in assessment and program development, I was eager to join an institution that values innovation while keeping learners and patient outcomes at the center. Nightingale’s commitment to growth, technology, and real-world readiness aligns with my own passion for meaningful, lasting change. I’m proud to be a part of this amazing team and happy that Nightingale is my forever home.”

through what felt like a ‘career crisis.’ The opportunity to apply to Nightingale came at an important time in my life when I was yearning for change but unsure of what that change would look like or how to make it happen. I hadn’t yet recognized that the shift I needed was related to my career. At the time, I was pursuing acting in NYC and working part time at a performing arts college. Then COVID hit, and like so many others, everything I’d been working toward was thrown off course. Then, my good friend and now collaborator Lisa Ray reached out to me about an opening on the team. That conversation marked the beginning of a new chapter for me. As we talked more about the role and Nightingale’s mission, I knew I needed to join this community. I am so happy I jumped on that opportunity and now thrilled to be part of Nightingale. Huge shout-out to the Registration Management team!” Stephen Velasquez Advisor II, Registration Management
