It is only of God’s great hall of fame that we see Rahab, the prostitute. It reveals what God is willing to do for the most sinful and how His own blood can cleanse from all sin. The scarlet thread which this woman hung in the window is the means and the symbol and the sign by which she was going to be forgiven all of the brutal sins. The scarlet thread typifies the blood of Jesus Christ that by faith she was projecting her life into the future and seeing in the Lord Jesus Christ One who could redeem her from her sin. This is the victory that over- cometh the world even our faith. "I'll Serve— But Do I? " "I'll go where you want me to go, dear Lord, real service is what I desire, I'll say what you want me to say, dear Lord, but don't ask me to sing in the choir. I'll say what you want me to say, dear Lord, I like to see things come to pass. But don't ask me to teach boys and girls, dear Lord, I'd rather just stay in my class. I'll do what you want me to do, dear Lord, I yearn for your work to thrive, I'll give you my nickles and dimes, dear Lord, but please don't ask me to tithe. I'll go where you want me to go, dear Lord, I'll say what you want me to say. But, I'm busy just now myself, I'll help you some other day." Yes, to be engaged in a cold war is a tremendous thing but to have faith that sees us through and causes us to recognize that God Himself is on the throne is the greatest thing in all the world. How wonderful to have this kind of faith and to believe in the Lord; to understand His purpose, and to know His glorious and wonderful Will. Yes, we’re engaged in a cold war and you and I are fighting .We’re fight ing for our lives but we’re fighting in the faith of One who loved us and gave Himself for us.
