even a new wife, will bring them that elusive satisfaction. America, unfor tunately, is today a nation of practical atheists and materialists, for that is what atheism really is. You remem ber the story of the rich man of whom the Lord spoke. He had so much he had not room in which to store it. He thought more about what he was going to eat than where he would spend eter nity. God called him a “Fool,” and that’s what he was. If only our people, as America stands on the brink of what will be the great est holocaust this world has ever known, could realize that we are 'but fools unless God has been taken into consideration in our lives. “The fool hath said in his heart,” not openly, not brazenly, but “in his heart,” “there is no God.” That’s why Christians are told to “love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.” That doesn’t refer merely to not dancing, nor drinking, nor playing cards, nor going to shows. It means this whole world set-up, this present confused and corrupt social order. A world in which men have wanted things, and not the one Person who can bring satisfaction, the Lord Jesus Christ, the only One who can deliver a man from the bond age and enslavement of sin, Satan, and self! Communism is not merely for the poor. It does breed poverty, but riches and the desire for them is the same force which governs the Red bosses. The Bible says of the Communists, “And even as they did not like to re tain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.” Not. only does Communism hate God, but it goes the next step and deifies man. For when man repudiates God, he is left to fashion a god of his own evil thoughts. It was Lenin who, when pointing to a map of the globe, stated, “We are going to destroy and wreck this world, and upon the ruins and wreckage we will build a new world in which the communists shall be God, and if any
power, king, or God, shall interfere with our plans, we shall destroy that power or king, and smite that God.” When things of that nature come under my reading it just causes my heart to be thankful for the God of the Bible, for such talk and display of contempt is prophesied in the Word of God. We are actually seeing a ful fillment of it. Such satanic reasoning comes from the same pit of its founder who said, “I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High.” All of these things which we see transpiring before our eyes need not bring fear to the heart of the Christian. These unmistakable signs that blazon across God’s heaven that the end of all things is at hand, should cause us to lift up our heads, to look up and realize that our redemption draweth nigh. But you must need to know Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour and “work out your own salvation.” By what reasoning can you walk into the living of another day with out the security which lies in a soul’s salvation! In this grave hour of world history we are face to face with maniacs of power. The materialistic philosophy of our time does not hold the answer, but Christ, alone, holds the reins on the present chaos and confu sion of a world mis-managed by man. Why not join the forces of righteous ness? “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt be lieve in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man be- lieveth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto sal vation.” It is that simple! In a shaking world, let your life be built upon the only solid, sure founda tion, which is Jesus Christ the Lord! This series will be continued in our October B roadcaster . 35
