that—and this year, more than ever before, it was an earnest group of girls. Most of the girls had come with the purpose of getting blessing and help in their Christian lives. One of the cheering things was to see in the group girls who have been in the clubs for several years, who have attended the regular club sessions and several con ferences, and who have been transformed from the gig gling, irresponsible girls they were a few years ago into the strong, sturdy, shining Christians we saw at this conference. Surely the Gospel transforms—one could never doubt that if he could follow the history of just a few of these girls. The conference verse this year was Romans 12:1 and 2, and that verse made an indelible imprint on the minds and hearts of the girls as they listened to the burning messages of the conference. A splendid missionary pag eant and a stirring missionary message deepened the mis sionary interest of each girl who attended. Please pray that these young women may indeed daily present themselves living sacrifices unto the Lord. Pray, too, that they may not be conformed to this world, even in a day like this when the world has such a strong mag netism, but that they may be .transformed by the mighty power of Christ into the strong Christian women that He wants them to be. “I am about to take the responsibility of teaching the adult Bible class, and feeling incapable of such respon sibility because of a lack of knowledge of the Bible. I am writing to you for help. Do you have a course of study by correspondence that would give me what I need? If so, please advise me what line of study would meet this need in my life. I have nothing at present for helps.” There are numerous requests of that nature constantly finding their way to the Bible Institute of Los Angeles. To meet this need the Institute inaugurated some twelve years ago a department known as the Correspon dence School, offering four separate courses of Bible study. Subsequently several new courses were added to the four with which the work began, thus meet ing in a more adequate way the various needs of Bible students throughout the world. Since the inception of this work there have been almost 6,000 enrollments in the various courses, and many thousands of sets of lesson material were disbursed for class use where enrollments were not made. In the fall of 1926 the writer was called to assume charge of the work, since which time we have been priv ileged under God to see the work continue to grow, having at this writing over 1,800 active students in various cours es, residing in all but three states of the Union and in the following foreign countries: Africa, Australia, Belgium, British West Indies, Canada, Central America, China, Cyprus, Egypt, England, Finland, France, Germany, In dia, Ireland, Jamaica, Latvia, Malay States, New Zealand, Norway, Philippine Islands, Poland, Scotland, Singapore, South America, Spain, Syria, Wales. Among this number are represented fifty different denominations and seventy various lines of occupation. There are students enrolled between the ages of eight and eighty-four. By special arrangement with the Correspondence School T he K ing ’ s B usiness now offers to its readers — o — Alan S. Pearce Says a Few Words

Oh, Christian—Be K ind ! Dr. Maclaren, of Manchester, used to say to his people month after month, “Be kind! Everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle. Be kind!”
