Jumbomania at the Elgin County Museum by Steve Peters

As a collector of local memorabilia and possessing a deep focus in studying local history for over fifty years, one of my keen interests has been Jumbo the Elephant. The ‘disease’ associated with my collecting passion has made me a ‘Jumbomaniac’.

A challenge that faces all collectors is, ‘What does the future hold for your collection?’ I am extremely pleased that I have been able to develop a relationship with the Elgin County Museum and Archives, ensuring that my collection will be preserved for future generations locally. Working closely with Elgin County has allowed much of my collection to be transferred to their holdings.
