“We continue to look for ways that municipalities are honouring Truth and Reconciliation, while offering spaces for events like this to occur,” Mayor Joe voices. “We are looking at next steps to build or offer a local Truth and Reconciliation space. I was in Collingwood, and was quite impressed with their architecture and space along the bay.” Mayor Joe invites those of all ages to this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in the downtown core. “Continuing to grow as an event, we sure would like to add a strengthened youth portion. This can be hard for schools with this event during school hours, though we are striving to see more students participate on September 30th and visit our local Library. The City of St. Thomas is passionate about passing this education on to the next generation, to be carried a long way into the future.” As Mayor Joe Preston shares, “This is also the beginning of a Communications Department in City Hall, for better sharing the municipal events that are happening.” Inquiries about
