The Last Lazy Days of Summer by Port Stanley Festival Theatre Artistic Director Liz Gilroy
a few. It’s a show with electrifying entertainment brought to life by these charismatic performers. The Dreamboats are touring to sold-out shows across North America, and we are thrilled to bring them to Port. November brings another new musical experience to the PSFT stage, The Fretless , featuring Madelaine Roger. These exceptional musicians have toured extensively across Canada, Europe, Australia, the US, and South America. This award- winning foursome play fiddles and folk tunes like no one else. With their intricate arrangements and outstanding vocals from singer and songwriter Madelaine Roger, this is a one-of-a-kind musical experience not to be missed. We also have tons of entertainment programmed from Decem- ber to next April; winter doesn’t slow us down. But as 2025 continues to move on, the laughter from Liars At A Funeral, Doris And Ivy In The Home , and The Kitchen Witches will not be forgotten, preserved in the hearts and minds of all our patrons who came to our theatre this season. The heartwarming moments that we all experienced collectively in Dump Guys and goldfish will always be with us as well, a bittersweet memory perhaps. The sunset and songs we heard on the patio on Musical Mondays will return next year and we look forward to those magical nights overlooking the harbour in our enchanting
As we approach the end of a very successful 2025 Summer Season, I am once again amazed at how quickly the summer went; we are already finalizing our programming for 2026. That being said, we still have loads of entertainment to come for late summer/early fall. Our Simon Joynes Playwrights’ Festival runs at 7:30 pm for three nights: Thursday, September 18; Friday, September 19, and Saturday, September 20. Once again, we will present three new Canadian plays, and our patrons will have the chance to be part of the creative process and hear brand new scripts from some wonderful playwrights. We’ve got a thriller from Steven Gallagher, Deadly Memories ; a charming folksy comedy, Hart’s Crossing by Tracey Hoyt, and a brand- new Norm Foster, the hilarious Ship to Shore . The Festival is free, but we do accept donations, which help the theatre to continue to support Canadian Playwrights and Canadian stories. We are a nation overflowing with talent, and providing an opportunity to showcase such talent is a strong part of Port Stanley Festival Theatre’s (PSFT) mandate.
Coming to PSFT on October 4th at 2 pm and 7:30 are The Dreamboats , and boy, they are dreamy -- four fantastic musicians who bring back classic 50s and 60s rock and roll with a fresh new energy. They’ll take you back to Elvis, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly and The Beatles, to name just
village of Port Stanley. See you at the theatre!
