The Township of Russell is looking for a mature, motivated and bilingual individual for the above- mentioned position. Under the direction of the Manager of Infrastructure Services, the incumbent will be responsible for the review of plans, inspection, and coordination and follow up of municipal capital projects as well as inspection of grading and drainage related to the storm water system and private entrances permit issuance. The incumbent will further be responsible for the coordination, supervision and control of the regular maintenance and operations of the storm water infrastructure.

Sous la direction du gérant des services des infrastructures, le titulaire sera responsable de la révision de plans, de l’inspection, la coordination et le suivi de projets capitaux de même que l’inspection de nivellement et de drainage liés au système des eaux pluviales et à l’émission de permis d’entrées privées. Le candidat sera aussi responsable de la coordination, la supervision et de l’entretien et des opérations quotidiennes de l’infrastructure des eaux pluviales. CONNAISSANCES, COMPÉTENCES ET HABILETÉS PARTICULIÈRES • Études postsecondaires en génie civil et/ou dans un domaine connexe et/ou une combinaison équivalente de formation et d’expérience qui répond aux exigences; • Au moins trois ans et plus d’expérience en conception d’ingénierie municipale, construction et inspection y compris la gestion de collecte des eaux pluviales et égouts, la conception et l’entretien des routes; • Un technicien en génie civil certifié (CET) serait un atout; • Une connaissance des politiques municipales serait un atout; • La connaissance de procédures et opérations municipales seraient un atout; • La connaissance des infrastructuresmunicipales, des lignes directrices de la conception du MOE et des normes provinciales seraient un atout; • Capacité d’identifier et analyser les problèmes et appliquer des solutions; • Capacité d’utiliser les niveaux de terrain et la station GPS; • Capacité de communiquer efficacement avec le public en faisant preuve de tact et discrétion; • Connaissance de Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) et Auto CAD; • Bonne connaissance de la loi sur la santé et la sécurité au travail.
Applicants must have a high-school diploma and will be asked to demonstrate sound reading comprehension and problem-solving skills.

SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND KNOWLEDGE

• Post-secondary education in civil engineering or other related field and/or a combination of experience that meets the requirements; • A minimum of 3+ years of civil/ municipal engineering design, construction and inspection experience including storm and sanitary sewage collection, storm water management, road design and maintenance; • Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) would be considered an asset; • Knowledgeable in municipal government policies would be an asset; • Knowledgeable in municipal procedures and operations would be an asset; • Knowledge of municipal infrastructure , MOE design guidelines and OPSS would be an asset; • Ability to identify and analyze problems, find and implement solutions; • Ability to operate field levels and GPS station; • Able to effectively communicate with the public using discretion and tact; • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and Auto CAD; • Good knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

COMPENSATION
The salary is currently under review and is based on a 35 hours per week. The Township offers an excellent benefit package as well as a pension plan. A detailed job description is available upon request.
