Home Libraries Work. Families Help Them Work Better. My Books Every Day is a books-to-home program that combines building home libraries with family engagement—so you get the benefits of both. Every student receives five high-interest take-home books with book-specific activities. Families receive a robust Family Guide to help them support literacy development at home. Even if families are too busy to read the books themselves, they can have meaningful book conversations anytime with book-specific prompts!
Students with just one book in their home are twice as likely to stay on track in reading than those without books. 1
When caregivers engage in interactive reading with children, social and cognitive skills improve . 1
Students with engaged families get better grades , score higher on standardized tests, and have better attendance records. 2
