There is something of interest to every member of the family. We hope you are blessed and become a regular reader. WCN seeks, at all times, to publish the TRUTH, regardless of “political correctness,” standing up for America’s historical Christian heritage and urging a return to biblical, moral standards. We offer very thought-provoking commentary, inspired teach- ing, real life testimonies, world, national, state and regional news, plus advice and information from experts in their areas of business and ministry -- all in the various sections of our 48-page newspa- per. In addition to providing valuable content to the Christian community, we focus equally on reach- ing those who are lost and seeking, and those who may have been alienated from church as an institution in the past. You’ll find WCN on the racks in the lobbies of grocery stores, family restaurants, shopping centers and malls and most Christian book stores. Of course, you can also find a copy at many of our “Ministry Partner” advertisers’ business and ministry locations. This is our outreach to the mar- ketplace, and we receive many wonderful testi- monies from people who have found the Lord for the first time, or returned to Him, after many years away, after finding our newspaper in a public place. Our Doctrinal Statement • There is one God, who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. • Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was

• The Church consists of all those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, and are born again of the Holy Spirit. Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church, which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the gospel to all na- tions. The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through the Word of God, for prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the gospel, and observance of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. • There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust; for the former, a resurrection unto life; for the latter, a resurrection unto judgment. • The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent and will be personal, visible, and pre-mil- lennial. This is the believer’s blessed hope and is a vital truth which is an incentive to holy living and faithful service. conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died upon the cross, the just for the unjust, as a substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood. He died, was buried and arose from the dead ac- cording to the Scriptures. He is now at the right hand of the Majesty on high as our great High Priest. He will come again to establish His kingdom of right- eousness and peace. • The Holy Spirit is sent to indwell, guide, teach, empower the believer, and convince the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment. • The Old and New Testaments, inerrant as origi- nally given, were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice. • Man was originally created in the image and like- ness of God; he fell through disobedience, incurring, thereby, both physical and spiritual death. All men are born with a sinful nature, are separated from the love of God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ. • Salvation has been made available through Jesus Christ for all men; those who repent and be- lieve in Him are born again of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life, and become the children of God. • It is the will of God that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified wholly, being separated from sin and the world and fully dedicated to the will of God, thereby receiving power for holy living and effective service. This is both a crisis and a progressive experience wrought in the life of the believer subsequent to conversion. • Provision is made in the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ for the healing of the mor- tal body. Prayer for the sick and anointing with oil are taught in the Scriptures and are privileges for the church in the present age.

Acknowledging Male Loneliness

By Rob Pue Year-End 2025

granted can take a serious toll on his emotions — and, of course, it’s not so- cially acceptable for men to even have any emotional needs. If, after all this, he wears down and breaks physically — or worse yet, emotionally — he’s consid- ered wimpy and weak. I share all this with you, because as a man myself, I understand that men have real struggles that they deal with alone, in silence. Most will never com- plain and as I said, most of us are more than willing to carry the weight of the world without praise. We don’t expect acknowledgment or even a simple “thank you,” though I admit there are times it would be nice. We tend to put ourselves and our own needs last, be- cause that’s just how it is. But sadly, all our hard work goes unnoticed by most — until it’s no longer there because we can no longer do it. When young men are courting their future wives, it’s expected that they pay for everything. Yes, even in today’s world, where modern girls claim to value their independence, and will proudly proclaim, “I don’t need a man to take care of me...” (don’t ever marry a woman like that, by the way). They still expect the guy to buy the dinner, provide the entertainment, drive an ac- ceptable car, and prove his value as a man by putting in all the effort, lest he be found wanting and therefore rejected by the female for not being good enough. By the way guys, if you’ve done all this and were not granted the “honor” of a second date, consider your- self blessed, because you’ve just dodged a bullet. Continued on Page 7

I guess I’m a bit late addressing this topic. It’s been coming across my desk for a while now, but I’ve relegated it to the “later,” pile because it didn’t seem that important to me. Maybe I thought it was just another concocted social cri- sis, undeserving of my time and atten- tion, but I’ve come to understand this is a real thing that many are living with, and just maybe this particular demo- graphic is finally worthy to be acknowl- edged. I’m talking about the issue of “male loneliness.” Certainly, all people deal with times of loneliness, but men are disproportionately affected and proba- bly always have been, but like so many other things in a man’s life, this emo- tional struggle has just been ignored. Loneliness has been linked to a wide range of negative health outcomes, in- cluding increased depression, heart dis- ease and even early death. In researching this, I learned that one out of four men in the US feel lonely or iso- lated either all of most of the time , and that same 25% of men reported having no close friends at all . This affects Christian men too. Ac- cording to a Barna study, 20% of prac- ticing Christians — who are also regular church-goers — reported feeling lonely at least daily and 10% reported being lonely all the time . This number jumps to 50% for single Christian men, and participation in church or “men’s groups” doesn’t move the needle at all. While these men may interact with one another in group settings, it’s only on a

surface level, with little to no depth in their relationships with one another.

will willingly carry the weight of the world on his back for those he loves, but his efforts often go unacknowledged and taken for granted. A man must work hard to learn a trade that will allow him to earn a good living. Then, he must work hard at his job every day to bring home a paycheck and provide for family needs. He’s also the one expected to deal with all the “man” stuff: all the yard work, home maintenance, lawn mowing, snow shoveling, car repairs, paying all the bills, fixing all the broken things, paying the taxes, attending to the happiness and contentment of his wife, setting a good example for his children, and in many cases, also sharing the household duties of cleaning, laundry, cooking, dishes, taking out the trash and pet care. He doesn’t expect constant praise for all his hard work. He embraces his role in life, but after a while, being taken for

And while men and women both ex- perience times of loneliness, women are able to form social networks and share personal struggles and emotions with one another in ways that men haven’t felt appropriate or acceptable. Maybe it’s the way we’re raised. Boys grow up with certain expectations re- quired of them. They’re expected to be strong, tough, resilient, and keep their emotions to themselves. And, of course, nobody likes or respects a boy (or a man) who’s “needy” or a crybaby — but these gender expectations form mind- sets that stay with them for life, thus making it very difficult for men to show any amount of vulnerability that could be construed as weakness. Men are meant to be the workers, leaders, protectors and providers for their wives and children. A good man

Kirk shot in the neck. There has been a low- level civil war in our nation for about 6 years now — but grows. Praying for Charlie.’ “The next morning — yesterday morning — I posted the following: ‘Some people think I had no right to (or am even a hypocrite) for praying for Charlie Kirk and encouraging oth- ers to do the same after he was shot because I spoke against his actions in the past —

the just judgment of God. And the conserva- tive-leaven pushed by Charlie and others will not change this nation. The need is repen- tance. And for the honoring of God’s law amongst men and the governments of men. Men must be pointed to Christ and His law and Word. “Let us be Christian men and women. Let us do right by men — but let us remember to do right by Christ.

The following is the beginning of a sermon I preached on September 28, 2025, titled Charlie Kirk, TPUSA, and Homosex: A Warning. To hear the whole sermon – go to www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttJGC- lIZv8&t=34s On September 10th – in a truly horrific act – Charlie Kirk was shot and killed. There is much speculation about who re- ally shot Kirk. My sermon will not be about that.

“The Lord has given us a plow here at Mercy Seat — a task to bring His law, Word, and Gospel to men and to the governments of men. Let us continue faithful to Him. May the Lamb that was slain re- ceive the reward of His suffering! — Pastor Matt.”

At 2:12 pm September 10th, I learned of the shooting and posted the following. “Charlie Kirk shot in the neck. There has been a low-level civil war in our nation for about 6 years now — but grows. Praying for Char- lie.” And yes, there has been a low-level civil war going on in our nation. Assassi- nations, riots, lawless- ness, upheaval. Left vs. Right.

I went on to say in the

sermon:

Do you understand what’s being done here? They are normalizing ho- mosex to conservatives and Christians. Sending a confused message to our children and young peo-

namely, that he put an open sodomite on stages across our state and gave him millions of dollars to get the vote out for the Republi- cans. But I do not see how one precludes the other. If a brother has been shot, I am going to pray for him. If a brother is doing public wrong, I am going to speak against it and re- buke the actions. Both are right to do. May we be faithful to Christ and abide by His Word. And yes – please pray for his family.’” I went on to write: “Please do not get caught up in the left/right paradigm that has been and continues to be fomented. And under- stand there are many self-absorbed men who are using the current hoopla and virtue sig- nalling for their own ends — to promote themselves and their organizations. Do not get caught up in the re-writing of who Charlie was — and the pronouncements of sainthood and near deification. Understand the connec- tion between TPUSA and the Republican Party. The Party changes the platform to be more baby-murder and homo friendly, while TPUSA brings Christians and others into the Party.

ple. Homosex is against the law of God — as parents we speak against it — but we are going to platform homosexuals at political gatherings and honor and applaud them? And we’re supposed to be ok with that? Does- n’t that send mixed signals to our sons and daughters? Doesn’t that spit in the face of God and impugn His law and Word? To see and hear my evidence for the asser- tion that Charlie Kirk and TPUSA were plat- forming homosexuals and normalizing homosex to Christians and conservatives – again – go to - www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttJGC- lIZv8&t=34s Matthew Trewhella is pastor of Mercy Seat Christian Church ( MercySeat.net ); founder of Missionaries to the Preborn ( MissionariesToThePreborn.com ); and teacher of the lesser magistrate doctrine ( DefyTyrants.com ). He and his wife, Clara, have eleven children and 38 grand- children and reside in the Milwaukee, Wis- consin area. To hear sermons by Pastor Trewhella, go to the Mercy Seat Christian Church channel at YouTube.com .

I received some blowback from a handful of people who thought I had no right to make my post about praying for Charlie, as I had spoken against some of his actions in the past. So I posted the next morning — Septem- ber 11th — the following: “Some people think I had no right to — or am even a hypocrite — for praying for Charlie Kirk and encouraging others to do the same after he was shot, because I spoke against his actions in the past — namely, that he put an open sodomite on stages across our state and gave him millions of dollars to get the vote out for the Republicans. Both are right to do. May we be faithful to Christ and abide by His Word. And yes, please pray for his family.” And, of course we pray for his family — it was horrific. Incredibly evil. It is absolutely heart-rending. The following morning, September 12th — less than 48 hours after the shooting — I sent out an exhortation to our congregation, Mercy Seat. I later (about 1:00 pm that day) posted it to Facebook. Here is what I said: “Dear Brothers and Sisters, All praise and honor unto our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! “As you know by now, Charlie Kirk was as- sassinated in Utah two days ago. I posted about his being shot on Facebook just 15 minutes after the shooting. I stated: ‘Charlie

Saving Souls In Wisconsin

By Roger Johnson Year-End 2025

Heaven is a real place filled with joy, work, meaning, and creativity. Jesus’ promise is for us to be co-workers in building a new heaven and new earth. Heaven has no cancer, no unemployment, no divorce, no bankruptcy, no sarcasm, no bully- ing. Heaven has an abundance of joy, fulfillment and right relationships. Wisconsin is a pretty good place to live (better than Chicago, Las Vegas and New York City). But it does not compare to life in heaven with Jesus. Heaven wins, hands down. 4) Let’s Move into Action. Biblical truth, en-

ously. Our state’s adults seldom read the Bible. Neither do they see the Scriptures as important for their lives. We believers must start weekday Bible studies geared toward non-believers and non-church attenders. Such neighbors are not our only mission field, but they are the field right in front of us. People are hungry for the facts of Jesus’ life and ministry, and the truths of God’s work in our lives. As we invite people to Bible studies, we will discover several significant truths: • People are eager to hear the Gospel, but bibli- cally illiterate.

I’m hearing church lead- ers ask, “So, how do we really save souls and grow our churches?” Answers range from “find an extro- vert pastor,” to “hire a great worship band,” to “leave it up to the megachurches to make it happen.” Good answers to the

question are not found in any of these common responses. But the truthful answer goes something like this: Wisconsin’s Christians need to rejoice in the great gift of new life in Jesus Christ. Believers then need to admit that effective evan- gelism just is not happening here in Wisconsin. In this secular 21st century, we need to change our habits and priorities. Then, we need to proclaim the saving Gospel to friends, family, neigh- bors and strangers. Rejoice, admit, change and proclaim — let’s remember these four! The current facts are that Wis- consin is among the bottom six U.S. states when it comes to Gospel proclamation and church growth. Only Washington, Ore-

thusiastic love for people, and a steady hold to biblical non-nego- tiables are essentials to witness, evangelism and church growth. But we all know fellowships of right-believing Jesus followers that remain stagnant and de- feated. That is not the abundant life that Jesus desires for His fol- lowers. Rather, He has called us to speaking biblical truth to peo- ple who live far from God, living obedient lives private and public, and calling neighbors, family and friends to confess their sins, ask Jesus for forgiveness, and begin living a new life with Jesus. Consider again Jesus’ great commission of Matthew 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the

gon, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Ver- mont are less effective at Christian evangelism than the badger state. Only 45 percent of Wisconsin’s adult popula- tion considers themselves to be “religious” – a telling statistic. It stands in contrast with stats for neighboring Great Lakes states, leaving Wis- consin as the least “religious” state in its area. Forty-nine percent of Minnesota citizens con- sider themselves to be “religious,” Illinois is at 51%, Indiana is at 54%, Michigan is at 53%, and Ohio is at 58%. Even New York adults stand at 48% considering themselves “religious.” In short, recent research tells us that less than half of all Wisconsin adults are willing to state that they believe in God and live their lives ac- cording to His expectations. So, how do we save souls, and build growing churches in Wisconsin? (Remember, God has al- ready done the heavy-duty work of salvation by the blood of Jesus.) And Jesus has now commis- sioned us to grow His Church. 1) Let’s start with the Bible, and take it seri-

• Humans realize that money, career, addic- tions, and unfaithfulness lead to dead ends. Ad- dictions have dulled our abilities to find and follow Jesus. • People know that they are missing something big in life: the Gospel of Jesus. 2) Let’s begin loving people. Yes, we need to go much farther than tolerating, accepting or re- specting people. In my own lifetime, people who live far from God have led the way in terms of accepting and respecting individuals who are not “their kind” of people. Christians, our job is to change that reality! We begin our mission by deeply loving our state’s people — individuals who may be lonely and even unlovable to their own families. That is where God’s mission starts. May we start by putting our love into action for people we do not necessarily like. Certainly, that demands change on our part. But consider the unique nature of our mission! We expect non-believers to make dramatic changes in their own lives. Think with me. Whose task is tougher? The least we must do involves making

Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to ob- serve all that I have commanded you. And be- hold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (ESV) In other words, Jesus asks us to go to Milwau- kee, Green Bay, Madison, Superior and Kenosha with the Gospel message. He commissions us to call people to repent and change in the Milwau- kee Common Council and the faculty commit- tees at UW-Madison, Marquette and Lawrence University. Jesus goes with us as we disciple new believers at the shipyards of Manitowoc, the grain fields past Eau Claire, the dairy farms sur- rounding Sheboygan, and the shopping malls of Brookfield. Rejoice, admit, change and proclaim! Chris- tians, rejoice (big-time) in the great gift of new life in Jesus Christ. Believers, admit honestly that effective evangelism is not currently hap- pening here in Wisconsin, while knowing that God can (and will) enable conversions to hap- pen. In our secular 21st century, we Jesus-fol- lowers need to change our habits to bring on revival. Finally, as Christ’s witnesses, Wisconsin Christians need to proclaim the saving Gospel to friends, family, neighbors and strangers — ex- pecting to see lives redeemed by Jesus. Imagine right now what Wisconsin would look like as one of the top six states for Gospel procla- mation and witness. Our churches would be known as agencies of revival, our believers would be known as agents for spiritual change. Imagine right now what Wisconsin would be like with 50-60 percent of our people born-again and following Jesus! We would pray and praise Jesus with confidence and power. We would wel- come strangers in each Sunday morning wor- ship service. We would send mission teams to reach the remaining 40 percent of our citizens with Jesus’ abundant new life. God’s revival would catch fire in Chicago, New York and be- yond! Start with the Bible. Love people deeply. Claim and proclaim non-negotiables. Move into action. Saving souls begins with your conversion today! Roger Johnson is an evangelist, writer and teacher from Kenosha. He served for nearly 40 years as a urban evan- gelist in Chicago. A graduate of Wheaton College (B.A.) and North Park Theol. Seminary (M.Div.), he completed the M.A. in Evangelism & Leadership at Wheaton Grad School in 2012. Roger and his wife, Ruth, attend Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (LCMS) in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.

equivalent changes in our own lives. And that is what being born again is all about. 3) Let’s claim and pro- claim the non-nego- tiables. God, Jesus, heaven, hell, and human souls are all real and eternal. What we think and believe, how we live with these realties matters. Belief in Jesus provides abundant meaning for life, now and forever. (Re- member philosopher Blaise Pascal’s words, “There is a God-shaped vacuum in the heart of every person, that can only be filled by God, made known through Jesus Christ.”) Every person dies, yet every human soul lives forever, transported to an eternal home in heaven, or an eternal death with Satan in hell.

But back to the main topic here, which is male loneli- ness. Men deal with a lot more than they’re given credit for, and they do it will- ingly, unemotionally and silently. But it wears on us. Without close friends that we can be open, honest and even vulnerable with, it’s easy to end up feeling very alone in life a lot of the time. Thank our Heavenly Father that He blessed us with Godly wives to ease our bur- dens. As He said in Genesis 2, “It is not good that the man should be alone.” But we also need “guy friends” — others who can understand our unique situ- ations, our callings and the daily demands of life that we bear as just part of who we are and what we do. Unfor- tunately, most of us walk these roads alone. Person- ally, I have a lot of people that I consider friends. But I can count on less than one hand the number of male friends that really know me, that I can open up to, share my struggles with and seek advice from. And none of these few close friends are local to my area. In fact, al- most none even live in my state, so it’s rare that I get to see them and spend time with them in person. As men, we have a calling and duty to be strong and courageous, to work hard and be providers, protectors and servants. We’re to be warriors — not weak, not lazy and certainly not cow- ardly. And even though we’re trained from childhood on to not let our emotions or feelings show, we still have them. While most men are used to being “loners,” we need to admit that we need male friends who can em- pathize with us in compas- sionate understanding. God’s Word says so. Ecclesiastes 4, “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not an- other to help him up.” Proverbs 27, “Iron sharp- eneth iron; so, a man sharp- eneth the countenance of his friend.” Galatians 6, “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” In John 15, Jesus called His disciples His “friends,” rather than servants, be- cause He was able to share

Once again, God’s way is the opposite of the world’s way. The enemy would pre- fer we remain isolated, emo- tionally distressed, lonely and even hopeless. There are many examples in Scrip- ture of men who felt exactly these ways. Think of Job, Elijah, David and Paul. But God’s Word tells us to connect, to be genuine, vul- nerable, open, honest, lov- ing and caring toward one another. And we’re also re- minded that we, and Christ-followers, also have a Friend who sticks closer than a brother. I know it’s hard to trust. My trust in others has been betrayed more times than I can count. But the truth is, it’s impossible to form these vitally-important close friendships if there’s no trust; if you’re not will- ing to let your defenses fall and allow people to see that you’re not perfect, that your life can be hard some- times and that sometimes, though your faith is strong, your will is weak. It’s ok. God does some of His best work in the midst of our weakness. We all need love and connection, and the comfort of Godly friendship in this world we’ve been battling for so long on our own. Where do you find such a friend? First and foremost, in Jesus, because as you know, “What a Friend we have in Jesus!” But then take another look at your long list of “acquaintances” and consider which one you would like to be a friend to. Then, invest some time in getting to know that brother better. Instead of the surface “friendship” you may have now, talking only about the weather, the kids, your job or sports, allow yourself to be open with them and deepen that connection. Your soul will rejoice when you have a true friend like this. But to have such a friend, you need to be a friend. One who would never betray their trust. One who would drop every- thing to help in their time of need. One who doesn’t just say, “I’ll be praying for you,” but instead, stops everything and prays with them right in that moment. Bottom line, if we want to break out of the trap of “male loneliness,” we need to understand that we need

David and Jonathan are examples of two men that were best friends and we should learn from their ex- ample. Even in the midst of the worst adversity, we read of this bond of deep friend- ship, “...the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.” I’m blessed in that I also have a friend like that, though he lives far away and we’re rarely able to get together in person. As men, we often have a hard time trusting other men, because we’ve learned things aren’t always as they seem. I was once part of a men’s prayer group, and we shared many personal, pri- vate struggles with one an- other, fully believing our time together in that small group was safe. We prayed for one another, counseled one another and bore one another’s burdens. We told each other the truth, even when it was hard for them to hear. Proverbs 27, “Faithful are the wounds of a friend...” Unfortunately, as it turned out, there were two deceivers among us, who betrayed our trust. And once that trust was broken, it was impossi- ble to rebuild. “The kisses of an enemy are deceitful.” In- deed. As Christian men, we should also be aware that the root of our loneliness is often sin. It began in the Garden. When sin entered the world, brokenness en- tered relationships. Adam, once able to walk with God in the Garden in the cool of the day, suddenly found himself hiding from God. When caught in sin, Adam blamed Eve, and I would conclude that this not only isolated him from God and his wife, but the shame and guilt also isolated him inter- nally. Pride is another sin that causes us loneliness. As men, we think we need to hold everything together and conquer life on our own. We don’t want to be seen as weak or vulnerable, so we have a hard time letting our guard down, dropping our pride and bonding with our Christian brothers. But James tells us we are to con- fess our sins to one another and pray for one another.

Wisconsin Christian News Is Reader Supported — Can You Spare $1 a Day to Join the Team?

Have you been blessed by picking up a copy of Wisconsin Christian News from a news rack in a public place? Do you appreciate the hard-hitting, thought provoking commentary, in- spired Bible teaching, and relevant (and truthful) news from around the world? Do you appreciate the fact that we pub- lish the TRUTH — whether it’s “politi- cally correct” or not? Do you like that we stand up for America’s historical Christian heritage, even as we urge a return to the moral, biblical standards that our nation once cherished? Wisconsin Christian News is a coop- erative effort by active Christ-followers from all walks of life. In our pages and on our website, you’ll find Information, Education and Inspiration, with a ma- jority of the articles written by members of our “WCN family” of contributors. WE HAVE SOME OF THE BEST CHRIS- TIAN WRITERS IN THE NATION IN OUR PAGES, FROM ALL OVER THE

COUNTRY — AND WCN IS NOT JUST FOR WISCONSIN! We have subscribers in all fifty states, distribute nationally, and our website is used by people WORLDWIDE! But while we provide valuable content to the Christian community, our real focus is on reaching those who are lost and seeking, or those who have been alienated from “church” as an institu- tion in the past. And especially those who have never heard the Good News of the Gospel of Christ, or have walked away from their faith and have contin- ued searching. The “free” copies you’ll find on the racks in lobbies of grocery stores, family restaurants, truck stops, bookstores, li- braries, hotels and other public places are our OUTREACH to those who oth- erwise would never get the truth of God’s Word or the truth of what’s re- ally going on in our world today.

paper, however, the revenue from our ads doesn’t come anywhere close to covering the enormous financial needs, which we must raise every month. For several years now, WCN has only been able to continue through the generous financial support of individuals — true Christ-followers who understand and support the ministry work we do. We are nearly 100% Reader Sup- ported now, yet of the thousands of copies we provide out in the public square, far fewer than 1% of those who pick a copy up every month ever send any type of support. This has now be- come unsustainable. Some have suggested we become an “online only” publication. But we hope you understand, if we were to do that, only those who are already Christians and who would go to our website pur- posely, would ever see it. This is why our print edition is VITAL — whereas

Every month, we distribute thousands of copies of Wisconsin Christian News free of charge, made available in public news racks. We also provide compli- mentary copies to jail inmates, shut- ins, and hospital patients. This is our ministry to those who are lost, hurting, confused and seeking the truth. We’ve had wonderful testimonies from people who have come to know the Lord for the first time, or returned to Him, after many years away, after finding and reading our newspaper in a public place. This is our outreach — and it truly is a ministry — our mission. But it costs a great deal of money to do this, and while we constantly receive requests for even MORE copies in these public areas, the costs to produce and distribute our printed newspaper con- tinue to rise every month.

We do have advertisements in the

a Bible tract or book handed to someone could easily be tossed aside, because we’re in newspa- per format, thousands of people pick up WCN each month — of their own freewill, because they want it! What better way to reach the unsaved, than for THEM to choose to pick up our newspaper on their own, be- cause something on our front page caught their attention? Then, eyes are opened and hearts and lives are changed. Very likely, we reach more un- saved souls out in public with God’s Word and truth in a sin- gle month than the average church will reach in its entire existence. This is not “boast- ing,” but rather the simple truth. Thus, we must maintain our print edition . This work is more vital now than ever before. Especially in this age of dis-in- formation and mis-information, political “spin” and radical left- ist “journalism.” But if Wisconsin Christian News is to continue as a print publication, available by sub- scription to Christians, as well as those thousands of free copies we place in public to reach the lost, we NEED YOUR HELP today! Please consider becoming a monthly Supporting Member of our ministry team. While so many readily fund overseas missionaries, THIS is a mis- sion — not in some far-off overseas land, but RIGHT HERE IN YOUR OWN BACK- YARD, where it’s so desper- ately needed. We’re asking for your help, and believe everybody can do something. Can you spare just $1 a day on a regular basis to assure WCN remains in print? Even less — $25 a month on a regular basis — would be a huge help if enough new sup- porters come alongside us. But if you’re truly not able to help fi- nancially, we ask that you please help prayerfully. With- out your help, we will not be able to continue this essential outreach much longer. Please prayerfully consider what YOU can and will do today, to make sure WCN is still there next month. Thank you, and God bless you.

racy” that we are supposedly trying to protect? (BTW...we are a REPUBLIC not a DEMOCRACY.) Why do our elected officials repeatedly speak about our “democracy?” Do they not know better? Let me try to tie this whole thing together. As I watched the elec- tion results in No- vember, I was

As many of you know, I host a daily podcast. I have been doing it every morning at 7 am EST for over seven years. My audience isn’t large by today’s standards, but IS thought provoking. Especially if you are inter-

ested in learning the TRUTH.

The show is interactive, meaning it has audi- ence participation. The listeners can ask ques- tions, make statements, opine, and vent. I never claimed to be an expert on Christianity and the culture, but I like to tell the viewers that I can read and I can think. The show is not sycophantic...meaning every- one’s opinion counts. The host (me) is not some 6-foot icicle who stands in a pulpit and tells the “congregation” what the Bible says. We daily throw a piece of meat on the table and ALL of us chew over it. The Bible tells us that “in the multitude of many counselors is great wisdom.” At www.CoachDaveLive.com YOUR two cents is still worth two cents. Throw your theological position/opinion on the table and let’s have at it. Of course, we have disagreements, but at the end of the hour we are all still friends and we all have heard a dif- ferent perspective on the times in which we live and what our FAITH requires us to do. Yet each one BELIEVES that they are teaching the TRUTH. I am old enough to remember when President Ronald Reagan coined the phrase “TRUST BUT VERIFY” when dealing with the Soviet Union and their Communist leaders. On our daily show, we try to use the same process. Most Christians have been members of the same de- nomination for their entire lives. Perhaps the mantra would be: “My pastor says it. I believe it. And that settles it.” But does it? How do you know if what the pas- tor is telling you is the truth? You could simply walk across the street to another church and hear a different version of the truth. Which pastor and which denomination actually has a corner on the truth? We have a rule that we try to follow at Coach Dave Live. When someone makes a comment regarding what the Bible says, we simply ask a question of the speaker.

reminded again of just how gullible the American public has become. Twenty-four years after Muslims (so they tell us) attacked New York, the Big Apple swallowed the Big Lie and elected a Muslim mayor. Pardon me...but how does that happen? What are they teaching in America’s public schools? Perhaps we should begin to ask ourselves how America got so off course. Re- member the questions? “Who told you that and why should we believe them?” “Diversity is our greatest strength”.... “who are you to judge?” ... “Jesus loves everybody”... “I’m from the Government and I am here to help” ... “Oswald killed Kennedy”... “Airplanes brought down the towers” ... “I was born this way” ... “take the jab”... “wear a mask”... “we evolved from apes” ... “pre-born children are not people” ... “I never had sex with that woman, Miss Lewinsky” ... “WMDs” ... “don’t mix religion and politics” ... “Tyler killed Charlie Kirk” ... “Biden is sharp” ... “our elections are honest” ... “J6ers killed the police” ... “every- body goes to Heaven” ... “tel-lie-vi- sion.”

Our nation is submerged in lies. Truth-telling is a thing of the past.

Honesty has gone with the wind...deception has replaced honesty as a virtue. The best liars get promoted. New York elected a 34-year-old Muslim as mayor...as Forrest Gump famously said, “STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES.” The average Ameri- can is gullible and stu- pid...and they vote to spend more money on Government schools, illegals, and govern- ment hand-outs. “I went to public school and I turned out ok!”

My friends, so much of what they are telling us today simply is not the truth. Religion, like lifestyle, is often passed down from generation to generation Read Psalm 78. No Downside To the Filibuster At All?

ConstitutionPartyOfWisconsin.com

By Andrew Zuelke, State Chairman Constitution Party of Wisconsin Year-End 2025 As of this writing, we are into the longest government “shutdown” in his- tory. The good news is the shutdown is exposing the evils of government-funded welfare and how many people could work but refuse to. Welfare, intended to be temporary and for those physically and mentally disabled, has been abused by

four extra senators there in the count, and make us (Republicans) a permanent minority.” Johnson added, “You would see massive re- strictions of the 2nd Amendment, second amendment rights, you would see them (De- mocrats) federalize elections, so they could take over and manipulate things in the red states. There are a lot of abuses that could come.” So, the Democrats in power could do all that, Johnson? You are saying Republicans, the Supreme Court and the Constitution would be powerless to stop them? Really? If the only re- strain of one-party oligarchy is the filibuster, then our constitutional republic is already dead.

getting reforms passed can now can say to angry voters, “Well, we couldn’t get enough Democrats to help us pass this legislation in the Senate. We couldn’t get sixty votes. What do you expect us to do?” How convenient. Think back, friends. Did you hear any GOP senate candidate in past Senate races in your states saying to voters at campaign stops, “And remember this November, my friends, it’s not enough to get us Republicans a simple majority. You must turn out at the polls to get our party a filibuster-proof majority?” No, Republicans will never say that while campaigning because they will come across

the able-bodied for decades in levels we can scarcely afford. I long knew there are dependent Americans who actually feel entitled to other peo- ple’s money, but the levels of entitlement shocked even me. One SNAP recipient actually said online, “It is the responsibility of taxpayers to feed my kids.” People online have said if they do not get their food stamps, they will just steal food from the stores…or people. I don’t doubt they will. This is the expected outcome of government-funded charity and the destruction of the work ethic and self-reliance it causes. This shutdown will hopefully force massive entitlement reform, more so than we saw in the 1990s. This shutdown also reveals that our federal government is involved in way more than it should be, judging by how many things we are being told are not being funded now. Senators say the filibuster is necessary, that it forces the two parties to work together in the Senate to get sixty votes. Of course, if both De- mocrats and Republicans had been obeying the written (enumerated) US Constitution all these decades, it would not matter which party was in the majority because they could only vote on certain things allowed by the Article 1: Section 8. Recently, House Speaker Mike Johnson was asked about President Trump’s call to use the “nuclear option” to get rid of the filibuster. John- son said that the GOP has traditionally seen the filibuster as a safeguard. GOP Senators said it “holds us back from the Democrat’s worst im- pulses.” Johnson asked, “What would Democrats do if they had no fili- buster impediment, no speed bump at all? They’ve already told us. They would pack the Supreme Court, go from nine to thirteen or fifteen or sev- enteen or however many liberals they could pack on the Court. You would have D.C. or Puerto Rico be made into states, which would give

as ungrateful and demanding. Instead, you heard GOP candidates say, “Help us take the Senate back from the Democrats (meaning a simple majority vote).” Speaker Johnson said, “They (Democrats) keep saying Republicans are in charge of the government. We aren’t. Not in the Senate. Sixty votes control the senate, not a bare majority.” Johnson and other Re- publicans place the burden of getting a filibuster proof majority on con- servative and independent voters who already gave the GOP majority control of the House, Senate, and White House simultaneously over the years. I’ve heard Democrats out of power say that we cannot allow the tyranny of the majority to oppress the minority. They have no problem with using the filibuster and their few votes as the minority to prevent the majority – and the will of the electorate – from getting things done. Democrats in power also decry any Republican Senate minority when they use the filibuster, saying, “The voters spoke very clearly last No- vember. We won. Our government and the will of the electorate is being thwarted by a vocal minority of alt-right extremist Senators. Democracy is on the line because of Republican selfishness and authoritarianism.” Filibuster defenders make it sound as though there are only upsides to the filibuster, never any downsides. They fail to mention the filibuster also gives the minority party veto power over their majority, such as the recent prevention of a continuing resolution from being passed in the Senate. So, Republicans, are you saying to the voters who helped you retake the Senate that needing sixty voters, not just a 50+1 majority, to get things done is not a downside to the filibuster? ConstitutionPartyOfWisconsin.com (608) 561-7996

Republicans are assuming that if they keep the filibuster while they are in power, Democrats in the majority will too. That is wishful thinking. The restrain We the People will have on any Democrat Senate majority – besides holding both parties to voting on only what the Constitution allows going forward and voting into office Constitutional alternatives – is that Democrats in power always, always go too far, promoting radical, communistic legislation for things most Americans will never support (transgenders in women’s locker rooms and sports, voting rights for il- legal immigrants, federal investigations into and arrests of angry parents at school board meetings and other political opponents, universal basic income, etc.) and within a few years, Americans vote them right back out of power. The Constitution allows for both House and Senate to choose their own rules. I am not debating that. As I have asked before: 1) What good does it do to give the Republicans the numerical majority in the Senate if they are going to keep the filibuster? 2) Why did Senators revoke the filibuster for Supreme Court nominees, reverting to a simple majority vote in the Senate to confirm them, if need- ing sixty voters is such a good thing? Could it be that both parties knew that if they kept a sixty-vote majority, they would never get their nomi- nees approved for the high court (i.e. – could not get things done)? So, apparently, the filibuster is “badly needed” to check the majority party, except when it comes to Supreme Court nominees?

Also, with the filibuster, elected Republican senators in power not
