Bible Teaching Opening up the Word of God The Battle For Our Identity

subject to them. They got to daily walk and talk directly with God, face to face, and the only rule was that they could not eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

I would argue that the most important thing you can determine and resolve as a Christian is who you are in Christ. Every

who I talk with, the sub- ject of an iden- tity crisis always arises

The battle for our identity is rooted in spiritual war- fare that has been waging since humanity fell in the garden. Since we have an identity crisis, it is only fair to assume we must have once had a perfect identity for us to now have a crisis with that identity and the logical next question would be — where did we lose our proper identity? As I am sure you have guessed, the answer to this question is that we lost our true iden- tity in the Garden.

in the course of the conver- sation, whether directly or indirectly.

I used to think it was per- haps because I was more sensitive to the topic, but now it is plainly obvious to me that the identity crisis that we face in this nation is, in fact, a battle for our identity that plays out in the natural realm but is rooted in spiritual warfare, the design of man, the fall of Adam and Eve, and cer- tainly in the restoration and redemption of mankind through work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Our identity was marred and corrupted by the stain

aspect of our lives, and our faith is rooted and grounded in our position in Christ as a son or daughter of God in Christ Jesus.

of sin due to the fall of man. There is no doubt that only our Creator has the right to determine who His creation is. How- ever, when Eve was tempted by Satan, the spiritual war for the identity of man man- ifested in the natural realm exactly as God knew it would before the foundations of time itself. From eternity past, God has always planned to redeem His creation with the death, burial, and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ. The precious blood of the Lamb was always meant to be the pay- ment for our sin, even though neither mankind nor the devil was aware of this marvelous plan which the Apostle Paul re- ferred to as the “mystery of the Gospel.” God had cloaked and veiled this plan all throughout the pages of Scripture, but until Christ was raised from the dead, we failed to completely understand the un- folding of the mystery of the Gospel. If we would only read our Bible, we would see that we are in the middle of a spiritual war as old as time itself. If we would only seek to hear what God says about that spiritual war, we would see that in Christ we are more than a con- queror. We must seek our identity in Christ, and not in the people and things of this world. We can never be truly effective as long as we allow the enemy to dictate the terms of this spiritual war, and define who we are. Christ has already told us the end from the beginning, let us walk in the truth of that identity! Let us boldly occupy until He comes! Email: AliveMinistriesUSA@gmail.com

Humanity has been dealing with an identity crisis from the very beginning of our existence. Even in the Garden, God saw that it was not good that man should be alone. “Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, ‘Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.’ And the Lord God said, ‘It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.’” (Genesis 2:15-18 NKJV). God placed man in the perfect place among all creation, the Garden. This was not just a gar- den, but it was the perfect gar- den. I am not sure what could be better than working in a per- fect garden that God Himself planted and that you are given stewardship over. Adam did not even have to do the work Him- self, for HE had God to walk and talk with, and God gave a per- fect helper for him in the cre- ation of Eve, the first woman. Adam and Eve had the perfect job, with the perfect Boss. They had control of every aspect of their lives and creation was
