A Light In the Darkness Covenant (Part 2)

Back in colonial days, placing a candle in the window was a signal to light and guide the way for lost travelers and re- turning family members, to a place of warmth and safety. Historically, a candle in the window indicated that the household was Chris- tian and it was a sign to lost Christian travelers that they were welcomed to stay there. However, the meaning of a candle in the window is different across cul- tures and religions throughout time. But no matter what the reason or the religion, a candle in a window gives light and warmth to an otherwise dark and cold world. And one can no longer argue that our country, our world, is growing darker by the day. Every new school shooting, tragic news cast or horrific headline is proof of that! And the farther we move away from God, the darker and colder our world gets! Our country and the American Church are in serious need of corporate prayer, “prayer without ceasing.” So we propose to you the “LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS COVENANT.” A covenant is more than a promise. A covenant is a “relationship of commit- ment” between God and His people. Look at it as a theological solemn oath between you and God. If you are a believer and reading this, we ask you to share this with your pastor and church family. If you are a pastor, we ask you to share this with your congregations. Feel free to tweak it in any way you wish, as long as the prayers get prayed! So what is the “LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS COVENANT?” We are asking the following: • Every night, as dark- ness descends upon your city or town, no matter where you live, we ask that you place a battery- operated candle in a visi- ble window in your home. We want the world to see it! • Placing the candle in the window is only a re- minder to you to start your ritual of daily prayers for our country
Godly men — Kingdom men — don’t sit back and do nothing while evil ad- vances and captures more sheep. Satan is working 24 hours a day, seven days a week. He is relentless in capturing as many sheep as he can in the time he has left. And our greatest weapon against him is prayer … so let’s get praying! Will you join us in prayer and returning our country back to God and bringing light back into this dark world in which we now live, as well as the “salt” back into the American Church? sites across America. • Lord, we pray for the nationwide banning of the abortion drug “ mifepristone” through- out all America. • Lord, we pray for the “spiritual change of heart” of America to cherish the innocent lives of the unborn. • Lord, we pray that you “supernaturally” inter- vene and repair the bro- ken moral compass of America. • Lord, we pray for Your Church, may You re- move all the corrupt, self-serving and apos- tate pastors that occupy your pulpits today. • Lord, we pray for Your Church, may it once again become the “salt and the light.” • Lord, we pray that prayer and Bible reading return to our public schools once again. • Lord, we pray for the return of Your Ten Com- mandments to every courthouse in the na- tion. • Lord, we pray that you use the death of Charlie Kirk to bring revival to our country like we have never seen before. • Lord, we pray You rise up strong Godly men both within the govern- ment and the Church, men who will stand boldly on your Word. • Lord, we pray our country once again re- turn to you and the wis- dom of your Holy word. “If My people who are called by My name, hum- ble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked
have placed your candle in the window. • We are asking that you place your candle in the window and start your daily prayers for this country and the Church on 1/1/26 and continue to do so for all 365 days of the year 2026. • Your candle is to remain burning in the window, for all your neighbors and God to see, until morning when you arise. Only then shall you extinguish its light and remove it from the window. • Your prayer list may grow or change as you wish, the important thing is that you “pray without ceasing” for all 365 days of 2026! • We ask you to share this covenant with inquisitive neighbors, friends and family, and local churches and pastors so they, too, can take part. It’s going to take a mir- acle and spiritual inter- vention in order to save our country and bring it back to God. But God’s Word assures us that He answers all prayers. As believers, we just have to be diligent in taking part in this corporate prayer assignment. But remember, a covenant is a solemn oath between you and God and it must be taken seri- ously. As previously writ- ten, prayer is our “most powerful weapon” in this spiritual battle we face. Not using it is like a solider refusing to use his weapon when facing a mortal enemy on the bat- tlefield. Your prayer list
