and school, for his f a t h e r and his mother, and for Jesus who saw right down into his heart and who said, “Suffer the children to come unto me.” Bob could not wait longed so-he knelt by his bed and after thanking the Lord Jesus for all the good things he had, he prayed, “O God, I’ve been lazy and mean and selfish. You know all the wrong things I have thought and said. I’ve cheated in school and pretended I was sick when t h e r e wasn’t anthing the matter with me— I’m sorry—please forgive me. Come, into my heart and make it clean, and then I won’t want to do wrong things. Make me strong so I can use my feet, my hands, my ears, my eyes, and my tongue to please Thee. Arpen.” Soon Bob knew Jesus had accepted his invitation, and that He had come into his heart, for He had promised. Then, too, Bob felt all clean on the in side. Quietly he opened his room door, and seeing a light down stairs he went back to tell his father and his mother what he had done. Of course they were, glad. But that isn’t all, for%“joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth,” and the Lord Jesus Christ was glad, too. A CHILD'S PRAYER Make me a child of Thine, dear Lord, Help me to know and love Thy Word, To all my friends help me to show I love the Lord who loves me so.

sleep In a real house at night—and not have to beg for bread.” After another long pause Bob con tinued: “Mrs. Moore even explained how sin is the worst kind of leprosy. It afiects every part of the body so that the mind thinks wrong, the hands steal, the feet take a person to places where God is not honored, the eyes look at things that bring temptations, the ears listed to tales that are not clean, and the tongue tells untrue things and whines and complains and says words that hurt other folks.” “I am proud of you. You have given me a fine report I feel as if I had attended the party,” said Bob’s moth er. “Did Mrs. Moore tell you how Jesus loved sin-sick folks so much that He came all the way from heaven to live, to be crucified and buried and to rise again? You know, Bob, this is God’s cure for spiritual leprosy.” “Yes, she did. She told us that if we come to Jesus and cry, ‘Unclean,- unclean,’ and if we are really sorry for our sins and ask for forgiveness, He will heal us. He will take out of our hearts the ‘want-to’ that makes us mean and bad. We can talk to Him when we are kneeling by our beds just as you have taught me. “We’re going to have a Thanksgiv ing party in the social hall the last Saturday ,in November. All of us are to ¡bring a list of the things we are thankful for, and if we want to we may read it after we have put our offering into the collection for starv ing children. Do you know how I can earn some money? I’ll wash dishes and put them away in the cupboard— or I’ll sweep—or—I’ll—do—” “Mrs. Baxter was here this after noon looking for a boy to clean her chicken yard and to help about the house,” replied Mrs. Newton. “Wants a boy to help her! Oh, I’ll do it,” Bob almost shouted in his eag erness as he ran toward the telephone to apply for the job. That night after Bob had gone to his room he did not think much about the fun or the refreshments he had had at the party, but he did think much about t h o s e nine ungrateful lepers, and he was truly thankful for a strong body, enough to eat, a clean bed, good clothes, shoes, for church, How to Join the K. Helpless Sheep

Probably you already know the won derful Shepherd Psalm, as Psalm 23 is often called. Do you know that the tenth chapter of John’s Gospel is some times called the Shepherd chapter of the New Testament? Other verses you may find are: Psalm 95:7; Psalm 100:3; Psalm 119:176; Isaiah 53:6; Mark 6:34; Hebrews 13:20; 1 Peter 2:25; 1 Peter 5:4. Is Christ your own Shepherd?

These sheep appear to be looking for something or some one, don’t they? Did you know that sheep are helpless creatures unless they have a leader? That is why the Bible has a great many things to say about people be ing like sheep and the Lord Jesus like a Shepherd. Would you like to look up some of the Scripture verses that tell us about our Good Shepherd?
