But thé. recognition of this relationship supplies a motive to a holy, devoted, and consistent life. Be cause ye belong to Christ, “see that ye walk circumspectly.” Because ye belong to Christ, “be ye holy in all manner of conversation.” Because ye belong to Christ, “let your- speech be' always with grace, seasoned with salt.” -Because ye belong to Christ, “serve the Lord with gladness.” —Old Paths. Not Guesswork “For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Cor. 5:7). “Have faith in God” (Mk. 11:22). Faith is not guesswork. It is not a testing as to whether God will keep His word. It is a stepping out upon that'word, with praise and trust. He who thus goes forward will realize often that, though the steps of faith may fall on a seeming void, they ever find the rock beneath. —The Alliance Weekly. When God goes to bless a man, He always makes him feel his need first. People come to Christ from a sense o f need oftener and more truly than because it is a good thing to do. . . According to Scripture, I may almost say, there never was a great blessing or uplift granted of God to any man except he felt- his utter need and lack first.
