EMBRY-RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY

AVIATION MAINTENANCE SCIENCE

FIRST Our all-female team just won first place in the 2023 Aerospace Maintenance Competition.

Demand for aviation maintenance professionals will top 610,000 over the next 20 years. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is preparing a qualified workforce to meet the need with certification programs and undergraduate and graduate degrees. The Aviation Maintenance Science (AMS) Department is dedicated to producing the best prepared and most qualified graduates to fill a vast array of career opportunities within the aerospace industry. AMS arms its students with advanced technical knowledge and the practical skills needed by tomorrow’s aviation maintenance technicians. Our greatest asset is our highly experienced faculty who have decades of experience in the industry. AMS is housed in a 48,000-square-foot facility that includes state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories. We also utilize a dedicated hangar, enclosed turbine and reciprocating engine run test cells, several aircraft, ground support equipment, and a host of other equipment to provide our students a world-class education. Highlights: Our program exceeds Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) requirements by including advanced maintenance practices in avionics, fiber optics, satellite communication/connectivity, turbine engines, composites, human factors, inspections and troubleshooting in its curriculum. The AMS program is programmatically accredited by the Aviation Accreditation Board International. Students have the opportunity to work in an FAA-approved Part 145 engine repair station in the course of their training. Some students may have the opportunity to work in Embry-Riddle’s Fleet Maintenance Hangar maintaining airworthy aircraft. Students can choose a concentration in flight, maintenance management, safety science, or avionics cybertechnology and security. Our alumni are leaders in the industry and our reputation ensures our graduates are highly recruited.

FIRST Embry-Riddle’s AMS degree is the first to have an avionics cybertechnology and security concentration.
