for the Easter District of Texas, he held a valid license to practice law, granted by the State Bar of Texas and was admitted to practice before esteemed institutions such as the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, East- ern and Western Districts of Texas. His impact on the community was widely recognized through his active involvement in var- ious organizations. These included the North Texas Services Board, where he served as a dedicated member, and the Local Service Committee of the State Bar of Texas, where he held the esteemed position of former Vice Chairman. Brother Spigner’s con- tributions also extended to the Collin County Bar Association, where he served as a respected

officer and director, as well as the Collin County Bar Foundation Judges Association, the Dallas Bar Association, the State Bar Association, the J.L. Turner Legal Society, and the Thurgood Marshall School of Law Alumni Board for Texas Southern University. In addition to his legal endeavors, Spigner was also an active member of various com- munity-oriented groups, including the Driftwoods, Hums & Connecting Links. Additionally, he enjoyed being a member of the Rotary Club of Plano, the Cotillion Idlewild Club, where he once served as President, and the MHMR Quality Assurance Com- mittee, where he displayed remarkable leadership as the former Chairman. His philanthropic spirit further shone through his involvement with the American Red Cross and

was the only child of Reedy Mack and Genieva Lloyd Spigner. His formative years were spent in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. After the death of his mother in 1950, he was raised by his father, beloved stepmother (Catherine Neal Spigner) and maternal grandmother (Hortense Lloyd). While achieving great things, he remained always devoted to his faith, his family, and his friends. Reedy graduated from St. Peter Claver High School in San Antonio, TX. At the age of 16, he continued his educational journey by attending the Central State (now known as the University of Central Okla- homa), then transferred to Southern University at Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he earned a degree in psychology. After graduation, the newlyweds moved to Austin, TX, then later moved to Houston to pursue post-secondary degrees. New opportuni- ties arose and the couple eventually relocated and settled in the Dallas area in the summer of 1981.
