469 E. 17TH STREET The Elder Watson Diggs Memorial: Home of Alpha Chapter (1962-1995).

CAMPUS RIVER Formally named “Jordan River” (c. 1890s-2020), has played a significant role in IU and Kappa Alpha Psi history. Located in Dunn Meadow, a bridge contains a fraternity his- torical marker.

417 E. 9TH STREET The home of Alpha Chapter (1942-1951).

1320 E. 10TH STREET The Herman B. Wells Library and home of IU Archives, where some Kappa-related records are located.

25 N. DUNN STREET The home of Alpha Chapter (1931-1941) and (1956-1957).

275 N. EAGLESON AVENUE The Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center is partially named for Frances Marshall* and houses “The Kappa Room,” dedicated during the fraternity’s centennial anniversary.

425 E. KIRKWOOD AVENUE The site of Mollie Spaulding’s boarding house, where Founders Bryan K. Armstrong and Marcus P. Blakemore rented a room and where plans to establish Kappa Alpha Nu occurred (1911).

EAGLESON AVENUE Named for the prominent Black Bloomington family, who was one of the city’s early settlers. W. Vashon Eagleson, Sr. (Alpha 1916), married Frances Marshall*, the first Black female to graduate from IU.

721 E. HUNTER AVENUE The fraternity’s first house, occupied from 1914-1924.

IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING LUNCH, GRAND HISTORIAN SCOTT led a delegation of fraternity members and Diggs’ great-grandniece, Mrs. Bassett, on a tour of historical places of interest to Kappas. These sites were located on and off campus.
