IN MEMORIAM
Brother Hamilton’s service to our dear fraternity intersects with the several administrations of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. Members of the Council of Past Grand Polemarchs share their individual reflections of Brother Hamilton on his transition to the Chapter Invisible.

“Sam’s impact & influence, like mine, are well documented and comparable to many eminent members of our noble bond, and his contributions, such as the Undergraduate Leadership Institute (ULI) and the “Come Home to Kappa” campaign, are imprinted and indelibly stamped within the history of Kappa Alpha Psi. Words cannot express my gratitude for Sam, who went out of his way to visit me earlier this year during my convalescence. A gentle spirit, a leader, warrior for justice, wise man, and child of God lived, and he is no more, but we all rejoice as we’ll long for thee and toil until we reach that Golden Shore to join Brother Samuel C. Hamilton.”
“Sam, you are missed. I listened well during your Celebration of Life Service to expressions from countless friends and family members.” - Dwayne M. Murray, Esq. 31st Grand Polemarch, 76th Laurel Wreath Laureate “ Sam was destined to lead in Kappa Alpha Psi. It was Sam who popularized the term “Servant Leader” within the fraternity because he was just that, a servant leader among leaders. Sam served the fraternity as the Grand Keeper of Records & Exchequer. He was smart and carried out his responsibilities with a spirit of excellence. Sam led by example, and he called all who aspired to leadership to a place of excellence...”
- Howard L. Tutman, Jr. 29th Grand Polemarch
“Thank you, my brother, for always living the fraternal creed of having an “unswerving fidelity,” not only to each other but to our family members... He will be remembered for his kind nature, warm demeanor, and perpetual mentor to all who sought his advice and experience. He was a man beyond measure and a brother like no other. A Nupe’s Nupe. But for me, he was a great friend whom I will miss dearly... Rest in peace, my brother, until we meet again. “ - Reuben A. Shelton, III, Esq., 34th Grand Polemarch “I shall always cherish Sam’s memory and praise God for the privilege of allowing me to get to know him personally and as a “leader of leaders.” Goodbye, Brother Samuel C. Hamilton. I can see you clearly as you slowly ascend to Chapter Invisible to take over the leadership of that awesome Chapter where our Founders reside!” - Robert L. Harris, Esq. 27th Grand Polemarch, 56th Laurel Wreath Laureate
“Our relationship spans more than five decades inside and outside of Kappa Alpha Psi, and too many great memories to recount. Sam’s talent, skill, and acumen philosophically, scholastically, athletically, and politically separated him from his peers. His countless contributions at every level in Kappa enhanced our fraternity… he lived a remarkable life inside and outside the vineyards of Kappa.”
