3 STRATEGIES TO KEEP YOUR NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS

As we ring in 2023, many of us will create our New Year’s resolutions. A common goal many people set is to eat healthier and lose weight. However, after a few months of following this resolution, many people give up on their goals. The problem most people have is that they set unrealistic expectations for themselves. But this doesn’t mean your New Year’s resolutions are hopeless! Here are three ways to keep and achieve your nutritional goals in 2023. 1. Set different and achievable goals. Setting a goal to lose a certain amount of weight within a specific time frame sometimes isn’t attainable. Consider setting goals such as eating two more servings of fruits or vegetables each day or only drinking sodas during meals and drinking water throughout the day. These resolutions are measurable and will inspire you to continue pursuing your goals throughout the year. 2. Don’t remove food — substitute food! When most people think about eating healthier and losing weight, they may think about all the foods they have to avoid. But thinking this way can make it difficult to enjoy your meals and resolutions. Rather than focusing on the foods you can’t have, think about what you can add to your diet to make it both nutritious and delicious. Look up recipes that are great for your body but also make your mouth water. 3. Never skip a meal. Skipping breakfast, lunch or dinner won’t help your nutritional goals — it will only hinder them. If you miss a meal, your metabolism will slow down increasingly, and you may find yourself overindulging in snacks later in the day. Try not to go more than five hours without eating. Waiting too long to eat will zap your energy and make you feel less productive and motivated throughout the day. If you don’t think you can eat a full meal, eat healthy snacks throughout the day to boost your energy. At October Kitchen, we make achieving your nutrition goals fun and easy. Our dishes will make your stomach and brain happy with our mouth-watering and healthy meals. So, try one of our meals today. Your tastebuds and brain will thank you later.
