A s part of the firm’s ongoing support of Essex Cricket, which started back in 2016, Scrutton Bland are the first ever sponsors of the premier hospitality suite at The Cloudfm County Ground. The Scrutton Bland Premier Suite has undergone a transformation over the past few months, not only with new Scrutton Bland signage being prominently displayed around the facility, but with the installation of new windows, providing an excellent view of the action on the field. The Scrutton Bland Premier Suite is the club’s main hospitality facility and regularly hosts Club Members and corporate guests who take advantage of the superb catering facilities whilst watching some of the UK’s best county cricket. Having the benefit of being located at the heart of the city centre, The Cloudfm County Ground is used all year round, with the Scrutton Bland Premier Suite offering excellent conference facilities to both local and national businesses. “We are fortunate to have some absolutely top-notch sports being played in our region, as a firm our approach is to get involved with clubs and teams who are embedded in the community and who are committed to nurturing and supporting local talent, as well as attracting players from across the UK and beyond. In Ipswich we have been supporting the Playgroud2Pro programme for a number of years. Run by Ipswich Basketball, Playground2Pro offers children from all backgrounds an opportunity to get involved with sport. The scheme has seen some of its graduates go on to represent the national team and play in, Europe and America, which is just amazing. Similarly, in our sponsorship of Essex Cricket we understand how much the club means to so many people in the area, the Eagles have an incredibly loyal following and as a sponsor we wanted to reflect that by supporting the Club on its journey towards the development of the ground which will see the Club having one of the UK’s premier sites for the game. According to Marketing and Business Development Director, Erica Gilson, the sponsorship is part of a wider strategy:

At Essex Cricket, we aspire to be one of the top business venues within the county. The renovations in the Scrutton Bland Premier Suite means we can continue to host a range of exciting and different events seven days a week, 52 weeks a year.” The Cloudfm County Ground is set to be redeveloped at the end of the 2020 season, and Darrell added: “When the stadium gets revamped, we’ll have some of the best corporate facilities in the county, and it’s vital that we utilise and maximise these revenue streams to positively impact the playing side of the Club. The better we are off the pitch, the better we can be on the pitch.” Playing in Division One of the County Championships, Essex continues to strengthen its claim to being one of the UK’s best Clubs. With outstanding performances from homegrown talents such as Dan Lawrence, Jamie Porter and Sam Cook, and the return of Sir Alastair Cook from his role as England Captain, the Club continues to go from strength to strength.
