Drive Yourself Carriage

A long with plenty of awesome bike riding, muse- um exploration and a variety of horse related activities, there are plenty of other fun things to do during your visit to Mackinac Island. Not many des- tinations offer such a diverse selection of activities in one place. Then again, Mackinac isn’t like anywhere else. Traveling with kids? Visit one of two butterfly attrac- tion on the Island. Have teenagers? Explore Mackinac’s mysterious side and visit the Haunted Theatre or take a haunted walking tour. For something completely unique, forge your own custom souvenir knife, charter a ride on a sight seeing plane or yacht, party on a sip- n-sail cruise, or test your fitness and enter one of four unique run/walks on the Island during the summer and fall season. Some hotels also offer bundled packages of activities, ferry tickets, carriage tours, golf, dining, fudge and more. Check with each hotel for more details. There are plenty of unique things to do on Mackinac Island, so let’s go! FORGE A MEMORY Stop into Forge a Memory and leave with a hand-forged knife that you made. While

supervised, you get to forge the blade for your keep- sake knife. An extra special Mackinac souvenir, because you or your child made it! Leather sheath included with all knives. Take a self guided tour through the hotel’s hall of his- tory, or indulge in Afternoon High Tea. The last several years have seen exciting outdoor developments for hotel guests and visitors alike. The Woodlands Activity Center creates an adventure for the entire family featuring a nature center, greenhouse, pickleball, shuffleboard and bocce ball. Also play the Gem 18-hole minature golf course or check out the Cedar Grove, a BMX bike track for kids 12 and under. 906-847-3331. THE HAUNTED THEATRE Be entertained by creatures from the past that continue to haunt the present. A vintage Haunted House of three dimensional monsters from the Island’s history.
