Hurricane Milton breathes life into tornadoes On October 9, 2024, Palm Beach County, Florida, had its first recorded EF3 tornado. It was one of the 46 spawned as a result of Hurricane Milton. The tornado carved a 34 km path of destruction, destroying homes and businesses in new housing developments, and tossing cars like leaves swept by the wind on a windy day.

9.12.5 Twin cyclones Judy and Kevin Tropical Cyclone Judy formed in the Pacific Ocean on 22 February 2023, moving to the south-east before making landfall in Efate, Vanuatu, on 28 February and Tanna Island on 1 March as a category 4 cyclone. At its peak, Cyclone Judy had sustained winds of 200 km/h and wind gusts of 250 km/h. Tropical Cyclone Kevin formed off the north-east coast of northern Queensland near Cooktown. Moving south, Cyclone Kevin intensified into a category 5 cyclone with sustained winds of 230 km/h gusting to 260 km/h, On 3 March 2023, barely 48 hours after Cyclone Judy, Cyclone Kevincarved its own path of destruction through the same region of Vanuatu.
