Transport — road and rail Transport is very important to people when they choose where to live. In Australia, we use roads and trains to travel. Regional towns are linked to cities by a network of roads, highways and railways that move people and goods. All of Australia’s regional towns are linked to capital cities through the National Land Transport Network (see FIGURE3 ). The National Broadband Network also helps more people connect online, making distance feel smaller.
