Small changes, big results Simple, appropriate technology can greatly improve lives in developing countries (see FIGURE6 ). Even a small amount of money can make a big difference to individuals or communities. Microýnance Through the provision of microcredit, small amounts like $150 can be used to invest in income-generating activities such as: • animals for breeding or milking • equipment or materials for basket-making or jewellery-making • stock for a market stall. Loans are repaid at low interest, allowing for future borrowing.
