Identify and understand the overall or big picture question you are attempting to answer.
Develop a series of specific investigation questions that will help guide your research in the appropriate direction, and help you determine the information you need.
Create a note-taking page for each question.
Locate appropriate sources of that information.
Record relevant information from a range of sources. Record the relevant details for each source used for your bibliography.
Present the information in a relevant form.
