884. 1959 Topps Complete Set (572) w/21 PSA-Graded

1% NM, 9% EX/MT, 13% EX; 39% VG/EX, 30% VG, 6% GOOD, 1% F with a few lesser. The 1959 Topps issue is considered by collectors to be one of the most attractive of the 1950s designs; one of those sets that effectively reflects the graphic design sensibilities of the time it was published. Featuring a host of Hall of Famers, stars, special subsets and tough variations along with a difficult run of high numbers, the 1959 set has long been popular among collectors, driving up the prices of both complete sets and individual cards. Presented here is a clean and consistent set, largely with rich coloration and sharp images. A particularly attractive example, the primary condition flaws relate to centering and wax stains, in many cases with a bit of corner wear (likely just from storage) reducing the grade of an otherwise sharp card. 21 cards have been graded by

PSA, as follows: #10 Mantle (PSA VG-EX 4), #40 Spahn (PSA NM 7), #50 Mays (PSA VG+ 3.5), #164 Koufax (PSA VG-EX 4), #180 Berra (PSA VG-EX 4), #202 Maris (PSA EX 5), #350 Banks (PSA EX-MT 6), #380 Aaron (PSA VG-EX 4), #390 Cepeda (PSA VG-EX 4), #435 F. Robinson (PSA VG-EX 4), #439 B. Robinson (PSA NM 7), #461 Mantle HR (PSA VG-EX 4), #464 Mays Catch (PSA GOOD+ 2.5), #467 Aaron HR (PSA NM 7), #478 Clemente (PSA VG-EX 4), #514 Gibson (PSA VG-EX 4), #559 Banks AS (PSA VG-EX 4), #561 Aaron AS (PSA VG-EX 4), #563 Mays AS (PSA VG-EX 4), #564 Mantle AS (PSA VG-EX 4), #571 Spahn AS (PSA VG-EX 4). An extremely pleasing example of one of Topps’ most popular and enduring issues. 572 cards total. MINIMUM BID: $2,000
