The staff and I want to thank you for a great season and wish all of you who are going back up north safe travels and we ’ ll see you next season. For those of you that are staying with us, the events from the Lifestyle Department are going to be the highlight of the summer. Jorge Abreu is working with his team to complete all the overdue work orders, give them time and they will get to you. Please read Jorge ’ s article as he has a few tips for all the residents and we hope all of you are going to follow them. I ’ m happy to inform you that every department head, along with myself, are working in the implementation of NorthStar and we are looking forward for the launch of the system. You will receive information on how to register and the steps necessary to complete the transition to NorthStar. We will host classes to assist with the registration and transition to NorthStar during the summer for our fulltime residents and also online for those up north. We want to welcome Garfield Fortune to our TEAM as the new Restaurant Manager for the Tee Room. We are excited that Garfield has returned to Seven Lakes, and under his leadership the Tee Room will be successful. More details about the transition of the Tee Room will be in our next newsletter. The entire staff has already begun preparing the Tee Room under the association and the future is bright. La Jungla has been in the community for 30 days and we can see the improvement. Bruce Zergot is working hard with them to restore our landscaping. Starting Wednesday, May 4th, the golf course will be closed every Wednesday as JR and his team begin the summer maintenance of the course. After all the play this season the grass needs to recover. Once again, thank you for a great season and we are looking forward to seeing you soon.

Maintenance Department Jorge Abreu, Maintenance Director

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well! For those who

weekly for 20 to 30 seconds to keep it from seizing. Remember, WATER, RUN, OFF, WATER OFF. Running only cool water while grinding waste .

will be traveling north I wish you a safe trip and we will miss you while you are away. As the residents in the mid - rise building know, we have some blockages from time to time. I felt it prudent to send out a reminder on proper use of our garbage disposals. From what I have seen, most blockages can be avoided and will cut costs down in related services. This is not contained to the mid - rise section of our community. Proper operating sequence . All residents can benefit from this brief list. For best operation, follow this order. 1. Start running cool water. 2. Turn on the disposal. 3. Gradually put food in ( don ’ t shove it in all at once ). 4. Run the disposal until food is gone (usually 30 seconds is enough). 5. Turn it off and let the water run for another 10 or 15 seconds to flush out the drain. Cleaning it correctly. • Sprinkle in a bit of baking soda to freshen and clean. • Lemon, lime, or small citrus slices as cleaners can eliminate odors. • Grind up a few ice cubes, which will knock off bits of food that may be caught inside the disposal. • Never use bleach or harsh drain cleaners as they could cause a malfunction. • You should also run your disposal at least

Cold water is preferred, as it allows any fat or grease to be chopped up by the disposal and move through the pipes in pieces. Hot water

could melt fat and clog a pipe. Do not process nonfood items.

This includes wooden matches, twist ties, cigarettes, rubber bands or pliable rubber materials, and of course glass. Please only food waste items. Do not pour grease or fat into the disposal . Grease can solidify in the pipes the same way wax becomes solid at room temperature. Grandma ’ s system of keeping a grease jar or old coffee can near the stove for bacon grease and used cooking oil is still good today. Use any metal can, glass bowl or jar and let it cool. Avoid grinding waste that will clog or damage your unit. Certain types of food should never be put down your garbage disposal because they can lead to damage, jams or drain clogs. These include grease, liquid fat, uncooked fat trimmings, potato peels, expandable foods (like rice, pasta, and flour - based foods like dough and even bread) and large animal bones.

Tee Room Garfield Fortune, Restaurant Manager

Grounds Department Bruce Zergott, Grounds Manager

I would like to express my gratitude to the residents and staff members at Seven Lakes for making me feel right at home upon my return. Your kindness has not gone unnoticed. As I embark on this new journey as Tee Room Manager, I look forward to being an advocate for all your dining room needs.

Your Landscaping and Grounds Department has several projects in the works that the team is addressing. We are currently working on the dog walk along Pine Valley in regard to sprinklers and plant replacements. The team is

marking trees that must be removed for FPL pole placement to alleviate the dark spots on campus. Auggy and Randy continue doing sprinkler checks and repairs. Curby is utilizing the backhoe to remove sick palms and addressing main line repairs for sprinklers. We are working with the new lawn service company, La Jungla, throughout the property. Our repairs to correct electrical problems with the well and pump on Bent Tree Circle and Pine Glade Circle seem to be holding up. You can expect a hard cut plant trimming to begin around May 15th.

I will be working closely with the Seven Lakes management team as we continue to improve the overall Tee Room experience. During this time, I look forward to hearing your concerns and suggestions on how we can all work together to transform the Tee Room to its full potential. My goal is to resolve any ongoing issues that continue to hinder the expansion of the Tee Room. This will be an ongoing process as we find what will work best for the Tee Room and its residents. Your input during this time is valued and I will be sure to keep you up to date on this new and exciting journey.

This is not your typical bingo game! You ’ ll still be searching for your BINGO, but there are no numbers on your card! Instead, the boxes are populated with song titles and our DJ will spin the tunes … you look for that tune on your card! Find a bingo and yell loud enough for all of us to know that you have won at life! Okay, you ’ ve won at bingo (in some cases, it feels just as good, right?!) You ’ ll have a great time singing and dancing (feel like dancing at your table, do it!) and playing a fun game of bingo! Sign up with Lifestyle, mark your calendar and invite your friends to do the same! $15 includes bingo and light fare … and if you win, PRIZES! Please bring our own pen, pencil, marker, highlighter or dauber! Advance sign up is required. No reserved seating. Tickets are now on sale.
