The purpose of this course is to develop and enhance healthy behaviors that influence lifestyle choices and student health and fitness. Students will combine the learning of principles and background information in a classroom setting with physical application of the knowledge. Other course topics include: mental and social health, nutrition and wellness planning skills, diseases and disorders, and health advocacy.
Personal Fitness helps students build lifelong health habits through strength training, cardio, flexibility, and nutrition. Activities include weight training, circuit workouts, yoga, and aerobics, with a focus on goal setting, fitness planning, and injury prevention. Students track progress and explore the link between fitness, mental well- being, and overall health. Suitable for all levels, this course equips students to maintain a personalized fitness routine beyond high school.
