while others excelled on defense. Grabbing a small flag off a runner spinning at full speed requires tremendous hand-eye coordination and reflexes. Football fever was taking over New Hope! Whether in the halls, at the day program, or during supportive work, football chatter was everywhere. The WOW day hab saw a significant increase in interest, leading to the creation of a fantasy football league scheduled to start in July 2025. Many showed their excitement for helping their peers reach their goal of playing flag football in an NFL stadium. They made signs, attended a pep rally, waved pom-poms, and sent best wishes to the Knights on their journey. Three dedicated people we support even traveled with the Knights to Buffalo and cheered them on from the stands. The Buffalo Bowl is not just about flag football and fundraising. It is about community, it is about inclusion, and it is about seeing a dream come to life. Thank you to the NHC Foundation and all the individual donors whose generosity made this dream a reality.
Meeting each athlete where they were and supporting their development was crucial. Although many of the athletes had never played flag football before, that did not dampen their enthusiasm and drive.
