Malabon Chamber Of Commerce and Industry

Malabon Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Inc (MCCII) was established in 1954 by a group of civic-minded businessmen in the then Municipal of Malabon, Rizal.

SCHOOL CREATION. In 1958, the same group of movers established the Malabon Chinese School, later renamed Philippine Malabon Cultural Institute (PMCI). It initially offered only up to primary school level, teaching Chinese education, culture & values, on top of Filipino & English to students in Malabon and neighboring areas. MCCII and PMCI Board of Trustees provide indigent, deserving students scholarships to help them graduate & become productive citizens. In 1996, under the leadership of the then Chairman Manny Chuacokiong (1991-1999) of the PMCI Board of Trustees, PMCI established the High School Department. DONATION OF FIRE CENTRAL DEPARTMENT BUILDING. In the 1980s, MCCII constructed and donated a building to house the Malabon Central Fire Station in Potrero, Malabon. When this building was finished, the then First Lady Imelda Marcos donated two fire trucks to the Malabon Fire Department. DONATION TO REDUCE DRUG NUISANCE. In the same period, MCCII constructed & donated a two-storey building for the Malabon Anti-Drug Abuse Center (MADAC) and turned it over to the Malabon Municipal Government. The project won many awards & citations because it was the first of its kind in the country to fight drug abuse early on, through prevention, education, rehabilitation, drug user stay-in program, and outreach programs. The building is currently being used by the Malabon Red Cross as its local headquarters. MCCII member Malabon Long Life Trading Corporation also donated an ambulance to Malabon Red Cross and a mini fire truck to Malabon Town Hall. Select barangays also became recipients of classroom buildings from MCCII. DONATION TO THE LESS FORTUNATE. Since the establishment of MCCII, the group has been actively participating not only in business-related matters, but also in socio-civic and nation-building activities. It engages in First Response Relief Operations during calamities. MCCII and PMCI started a weekly feeding program during the onset of the COVID pandemic. MCCII also donated PPEs, medicines, grocery packs and filtered water refilling machines to the local government of Malabon. MEDICAL & DENTAL MISSIONS. MCCII conducts medical and dental missions almost every year. This includes free medical checkups, medicines, dental service, and circumcision to residents of different barangays in Malabon. MCCII conducts some of these on its own, while some are joint projects with the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Inc (FFCCCII) and the Local Government of Malabon.

FELLOWSHIP. Furthermore, to foster and build camaraderie amongst its officers and members, MCCII organizes seminars, annual celebrations of the Chinese Song Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Teacher's Day, Christmas and out-of-town tours.
