He held various positions there for more than four years, before securing different administrative and senior positions in accountancy and client-facing payroll departments. Maaz said: “I’m extremely excited to represent the CIPP. I’m grateful for the opportunity to join the policy department and get involved in helping CIPP members, along with the wider UK payroll community. everything related to payroll. Sam has worked as a payroll manager in both an in-house and a bureau environment and has 14 years’ worth of payroll experience. Directly before joining the CIPP, Sam worked as an employment tax advisor at Croner-i. Sam successfully completed the CIPP Foundation Degree in Payroll Management in 2015, and also received the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development Certificate in Human Resource Management in 2016. On a more personal level, Sam loves spending her spare time with her husband and two sons, and her friends, and loves getting outdoors. She is also a huge fan of cooking and baking. We can’t wait to see what cakes she brings into the office. No pressure, Sam! Speaking about joining the CIPP, Sam said: “I’m really looking forward to working for the CIPP. The Institute has been a large part of my career, and I can’t wait to be able to give something back.”

AS WE welcome a new Samantha, we wave goodbye to our current one. Samantha Johnson is returning to the world of operational payroll in the capacity of payroll services director for Dains Accountants. She leaves the CIPP on 22 April 2022. We wish Sam all the best in her new role and will continue to keep in touch.
