The old saying, “two is one and one is none,” led us here. After buying our first Ranch Hand 2010 son, we figured we had better have a second to cover all our bases. That brought us to Ridge John Henry 5078 from Sandbur Ridge Red Angus. The standout bull of the Flat Water Gang Sale, he brings all the pieces together into a very nice package. His indexes alone tell the story: Top 8%, 15%, and 13% for ProS, HerdBuilder, and GridMaster—there are not many holes in his EPD profile! He is backed by an incredible dam that never missed a calf in 14 years and maintained a 366-day calving interval, too! Semen is so limited that there are only 3 individual straws up for bidding.

Here is a chance to get in on the ground floor of an exciting new genetic line at HanSine Ranch. On a drive across Nebraska, the timing lined up just right to visit TA Cattle Company and look over their spring sale selection. Without knowing anything about the bull other than his ID, Stellar M6 stood out as a bull that needed to be bought. His frame size was just right, his capacity and volume through his middle are phenomenal, and he’s got great feet! Upon deeper investigation, we found that he made that much of an impression as the first calf from a first-calf heifer mother, and he is a grandson of Sitz Stellar 726D. The Stellar lineage is known for excellent foot quality, daughters with great udders, and the ability to produce impact sons like Sitz Resilient, Sitz Profound, and Sitz Essential. We’re excited to see his first calves this spring—and hopefully some red hides as well!
