Vidal Montoya Castillo Qualification : MBA Job title: Manager, Atreus GmbH & project consultant, Coleman Research
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your career to date? “I’m passionate about project management, ensuring and guaranteeing the operational cost of new products, as well as business organisation, along with maximising manufacturing profits. I believe that department alignment is the key to success and I do that by driving coordination with multicultural teams, executing product and business localisations (ie adapting them to suit the needs of a particular country) in my industrialisation project management role. I have been performing different engineering roles to do that in the automotive manufacturing environment and most recently in the industrial business sector.” “Studying for an MBA at Egade has made me focus on how I impact people both as a leader and as an individual”

team, as well as with management, who have helped me to translate their business needs into deliverables. Moreover, I take decisions not from a one-sided point of view, but rather in a system-wide business environment.” Can you give an example of a lesson learnt during your programme that you have applied to your current role and workplace? “I have plenty. It has also made me reflect on equality in business, and how the tools that are familiar to most of us are not available to all. I truly believe I can have a strong influence through my role in the manufacturing business, while exploring my entrepreneurial journey in parallel. It is incumbent on us to build better communities – and better generations.”
“Since I have an engineering background, I found myself in challenging situations in my business activities that made me question if things were how they were supposed to be, or if other organisations and peers faced similar issues. This pushed me to search for a complementary way of thinking and I started to examine the academic offering around me. After two years of looking for a programme with the right mix of leadership skill set, course components and business colleagues with project, initiative or aspect of the experience was your favourite part? “There were many parts that I liked, but I will highlight some of the courses that showed me how to keep on learning: namely, marketing trends among consumers, economy, entrepreneurship & innovation, leadership, sustainability and organisational strategy.” How has the programme made a difference to your career and development as a manager? “I’m certainly not the same as when I started; I now build empathy with my experience, I found Egade.” What single course,
