Albis Optoelectronics Releases New Optical Receiver Module for Applications in Quantum Communications

Albis Optoelectronics, a leader in high-speed photodiode technology, is set to unveil its latest innovation at Photonics West 2025 in San Francisco. The company will showcase its new PX05G3 optical receiver module, specifically engineered for quantum communications and other high-end applications. This advanced module features a high quantum efficiency photodiode chip, achieving a remarkable responsivity of 1.2 A/W at a wavelength of 1550 nm. Designed primarily for applications that demand exceptional performance, the

PX05G3 is also versatile enough to be used for laser monitoring, sensing, and LiDAR applications. The photodiode chip is housed in a compact 4-pin TO-46 header and capped with a high-transmission flat window TO-cap, ensuring optimal functionality.

ER4 applications; monitor photodiodes; photodiodes with integrated lenses; hermetically packaged, short and long- wavelength microwave photodetectors up to 40 GHz. All products are manufactured in-house at their state-of-the-art clean-room facilities in Rüschlikon, Switzerland. Attendees of Photonics West 2025 are invited to visit Albis Optoelectronics’ booth #1272 to discover the capabilities of the PX05G3 and their comprehensive range of photodiode solutions.

With over 20 years of experience, Albis

Optoelectronics specializes in designing and manufacturing Telcordia qualified InP and GaAs photodiodes. Their extensive product range includes PIN photodiodes for various digital and analog receivers; high power photodiodes; low bias APDs; high speed APDs for 28 Gbaud PAM-4 and 100GBASE-

OPT Services Revolutionises Fibre Cable Protection with Eco-Friendly SlimLine™ Capping

UK-based OPT Services has unveiled SlimLine™ Capping, a groundbreaking

Key Features of SlimLine™ Capping • Lighter Design: 53.75% lighter than traditional capping (142g vs 307g) • Compact Dimensions: Reduced width of just 30mm (vs 80mm for traditional designs)

fibre cable protection solution that promises

significant environmental and installation advantages for the fibre optic industry. This innovative product marks the first major advancement in fibre cable capping in 40 years, while maintaining full compatibility with existing Capping 25 products. The SlimLine™ Capping, manufactured in the UK using Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate (ASA), reduces plastic usage by over 50% compared to traditional capping. For every 1,000 installations, approximately 165 kg of plastic is saved, which is equivalent to 990 kg of CO2. This eco-friendly innovation

• Optimised Height:

Assembled height of 675mm (vs 720mm for traditional designs) • Enhanced Functionality: Built-in cable separation for multiple operators • Controlled Cable Exit: Moulded knockouts for precise cable management The choice of ASA over traditional PVC offers multiple advantages, including lower density, improved durability, and UV stability. The manufacturing process for ASA is cleaner, avoiding toxic emissions associated with PVC production and allowing for easier recycling of offcuts and end-of-life products.

As the UK’s fibre-to-the- premises (FTTP) market is poised for significant growth through 2030, OPT Services’ SlimLine™ Capping is set to play a crucial role in achieving the government’s

ambitious target of 99% Gigabit-capable coverage by 2030 while minimising environmental impact.

aligns with the growing demand for sustainable telecom infrastructure solutions.
